Not much they could have done really. They sell Pogba to us and NEED to deliver a big signing to replace him to appease the fanbase but let's be honest there isn't anyone available and above all else they need a legit striker. Who else could they possibly sign? already have a great defense, decent midfield when fit, the signing makes sense when you factor in all these things. I don't think Juve will win the CL but they definitely have Serie A on lock for the next 3-5 years.

On topic this is a good signing, in fact if you ignore the figure it's a great signing. The problem is it's basically an all or nothing gamble. 100 mil euros and if they don't win the CL (in a season where Barca, Madrid, Bayern, and Atleti all look very strong) it will be essentially a failure. If it works though everyone will remember it as a masterstroke and no one will care how much it was for. Can't wait for the CL already tbh.

Higuain is worth the money more so than Pogba is. At least at his best he's a world class striker. Pogba is slightly more technical Khedira with shittier work rate. I don't get how you are laughing off one and praising the other.

Sometimes you have to look at the bigger picture. 100M for Higuain is too much probably in the sense that he's not as good as others +80 millions signing. However he's an amazing addition to the squad and no doubt he'll do great.
Let's also keep in mind that Juventus have been saving a lot of money for a few years now as they got Tevez, Pogba, Mandzukic ... for very low prices.

Imo Higuain from now one is going to shine more than his former best buddy Benzema.

I'd rather pay €90 million for a world class striker than $120 million for a box to box mid who will be converted to a defensive midfielder.

2019?  He'll be gone in a year or two max. Once he realizes that supposed world class striker is past it as well as Rooney he'll be gone. And Raiola will have no problems offloading him to Madrid to collect another commission.
