Higuain will deliver.
Why do I have to wait when I can see he is clearly overweight. Same thing with Aguero when he resumed with City.
Utd fans know best. Hint Rooney =)

Re: Official: Higuain to Juve
@Gigi... that's why Higuain got benched at Madrid. His biggest asset was his pace before the injury. The injury caused him to get heavy and he struggled with it after a year. He was fine when he initially returned and the year after... but then he just got heavy and too slow.
He doesn't need to be a super cut. But he needs to be an athlete. Higuain isn't an athlete right now. Not sure if the good year caused him to over-indulge or whatever... but he needs to get light enough so that he can be fast enough.

Re: Official: Higuain to Juve
If someone doesn't think that Higuain will get fit and in form then I don't know what to say.
He is a player that just came back from vacation, let him be who he is on his own time. Now the season is getting started and he will be back in shape. He is not skinny and lanky, he is a tank, which is good since we need a strong forward.
Its been the same every season. Last summer the same pics and rumors went about then he lost the weight and enjoyed his best season yet. De Laurentiis even called him fat when he was a Napoli player saying that running with the extra weight was like running with a block of concrete. And yet he has like 85 G+A in 100 games in Italy.
Juve's staff is not dumb, neither is Higuain, he'll get back in the game.

It hasn't been the same way every season. He was in fantastic shape going into last season and started the season on fire... looked very very quick. This is a pic in the very early part of last season (September). We'll see if he looks like this in a month:

Re: Official: Higuain to Juve
I see you don't follow Napoli yet you talk like an expert. Sarri very publicly had Higuain lose weight during pre-season. De Laurentiis in various times commented that he was fat, specially in summer and winter breaks. Even the Napoli medical staff had made jokes about how a chubbier but happy player performs better. He has been doing this for 3 years. He hasn't had a preseason since he just got back from vacation.
It doesn't get any more pointless than judging a player's form during the summer.
Higuain is this. He won't be a thin player.
No player stays unfit at Juve. I can't even remember us ever having a problem about a player's physical conditioning.

Re: Official: Higuain to Juve
Higuain told to lose weight by Napoli's president...
The Argentina leads the way in Serie A with 24 goals this season - but he has not found the net in his last four appearances
Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis has urged Gonzalo Higuain to lose weight and claims the striker is playing like he’s “walking around with a brick in his pocket”.
The Argentine is Serie A’s runaway top scorer with 24 goals this season, although he hasn’t found the net in his last four games.
Napoli were dumped out of the Europa League by Villarreal on Thursday evening but the Italian club’s chief insists coach Maurizio Sarri is not responsible.
“I have nothing to blame Sarri for. Napoli played a good match but you can’t say we were unlucky,” said De Laurentiis.
“Higuain should dispose of a pound and a half more than he has, as it is almost like he is walking around with a brick in his pocket at the moment.
He has to regain his physical form from a month ago, and then also return to scoring goals. However, all of our 24 players can play a part.”

Re: Official: Higuain to Juve
That was after the winter break i seem to remember... where he put on weight. But come on, he's like 5-10kg too heavy this time around. That's a lot.
I hope he loses it. I don't think Juve need him much for Serie A anyhow so it won't matter. CL is the place that there will be competition.

Re: Official: Higuain to Juve
Of course he will lose it, no need to be worried. He will catch up to the rest in time. He probably won't start for a couple of games, Mandzukic is great for the time and looks ready.
Mandzukic, Zaza (if he stays), Dybala, Pjaca, etc. Enough options until Higuain clicks.
We played the beginning of last season with like 10 injuries. Padoin and Hernanes were starting, if we handled that then we can handle everything.

Re: Official: Higuain to Juve
The winter break is only a couple weeks. He's been off pretty much for 2 months now. So he'll need a bit more time to take off he weight. 10-12 pounds shouldn't be hard to burn off in 3-4 weeks for a professional athlete training 4 hours a day.

Re: Official: Higuain to Juve
Imagine letting yourself get fat. Can't believe so many people do it. And that's amongst the non pro athletes.
Imagine doing it in HIS position
Having said that, means nothing. He'll be in top shape some time around the first few Weeks going in to next season max. However why the *bleep* would you put yourself through the added stress of doing a 180 turn on your physique whilst also trying to concentrate on your football. Mental.

It's not that hard for them to slim down. They've got time and all the Tools to do it quick.

Re: Official: Higuain to Juve
Loads of them get a bit chubby in pre-season but he has a fully fledged gut ffs
It won't be a big issue but putting yourself through that is stupid. 6-7 more years and he can eat 'till his hearts content 24/7 365.

Re: Official: Higuain to Juve
I'm sure for 11 months of the year, he has to keep a very strict diet and a strict training regime.
For one month, he relaxes on his diet and training and as a result, he put on some weight.
I don't think there is any reason to fixate on this or be worried, we have Dybala, Mandzukic and even Zaza who all look to be in great shape. Even if Higuain needs another three to four weeks to be 100% match fit, we can afford it and Higuain at 100% fitness is comfortably our best forward.
Of course it's not what you want to see, but it's not like Adriano showed up with a six pack of beer in hand along with a pizza

Re: Official: Higuain to Juve
Ffs almost 70% of his goals are golazo's. Can't believe I used to really dislike him at one point. Doesn't have the goal vs Roma though which was his best goal this season imo. And like half his goals are left footed strikes. Best €90M ever spent
Can't wait for a full fledged Dybala-Higuaín frontline once the season resumes.
I'm posting this here just so I don't want some jabroni bumping my old quotes in that other Higuaín thread.

He's better than all the 189 strikers Tuttosport claimed will be the next Juventus forward after TrezeGOAT's departure combined.

Fantastic to watch for us so far. So much quality in his play, not just his goals. Feels to have such a great striker in his prime and on form.

He's won a few games for us this season on his own and it has helped to mask our deficiencies through the first half of the season.
