Binged. Personally I thought it was a lot better than first season. May be because, thankfully, they toned down the mindfcukery a tad. lol.
Some seriously good performances too. Dont know about other nominees, but Thandie Newton deserves Emmy. EDIT: lol she already got it. Cool. Thumbs up

Not that season 2 was poor, but it was just a bit too in-depth storytelling wise and as a result clunky and lengthy during the a lot of the middle episodes.
That looks more interesting though! Slow storytelling needs to stay, but it also needs to be fast paced and exhilarating for a good change

Fancy dialogue, pretentious writing, terrible timeline jumping. The only thing interesting is Maeve's arc, i swear i couldn't care less about Bernard making confused faces and Dolores' witty allegory.

That being said, the premise is good. There is potential.

just watched episode one of the new season.
I can already tell i will be disinterested in Maeve's storyline just like how i was last season.
Dolores' story seems to be exciting though.

Great start to Season 3. Aaron Paul is a welcome addition to this show though I am really tempted to mentally fanfic his character as the grandson of Jesse Pinkman. Same brooding and demeanor.

^^ save to say he doesnt have the best range as an actor because he was exactly the same in Need for Speed. But yea, he has a decent presence

exciting to see what role my big bro Kid Cudi will have in this as well (he was also in Need for Speed). It obviously seems like he was a pal of Aaron Paul's when they were in the army together, but he died and so they uploaded his consciousness into an AI program hmm

I loved those scenes honestly. The reveal was predictable, but there was something kinda "Her" or "Black Mirror" about Francis that was fascinating and creepy.

but yea i kinda got that sense as well, last episode i watched was the genre one where Aaron Paul takes a drug that gives you different genre experiences that's when i knew the season was on a downward spiral Laughing

It fell off a cliff at the end. It was cheesy and dumb, kinda like a network show.

Agreed. It was easier to digest than season 2, but the quality in the writing still wasn't there.

It felt like a network show likely because Jonathan Nolan has already done a network show about a homicidal AI. It was called Person of Interest. That was a good show in its own right, but it worked because it was a network show. Bringing that idea to premium content backfired.

Agreed that season 3 killed this show, the fourth season actually tried to redeem the series and apart from the ending was pretty good, i guess the rating wasn't good enough for HBO to justify extending it.

yea i think i only lasted 2 or 3 episodes into S3... Between the high concept philosophical sci-fi stuff and all of the characters being so cold it was always doomed to fail though if the goal was to be HBO's next cash-cow after GoT. Now that House of Dragon has proven to be successful, i think the decision to cut it has become easier.
