Re: Alvaro Morata returns to Juventus
He seems to only do well against tired teams when he can get behind hence the bench, or teams that leave massive spaces behind for counter attacks behind the defence. Very odd player. Has a decent finishing, decent off the ball movement, decent heading but he just can't string them all together for some reason.

Re: Alvaro Morata returns to Juventus
Morata has always been a counter attacker jibs. Never has been a modern forward or too inconsistent in his general play to be considered one. Plus consider our style of play. Morata was doomed from the beginning.
I never expected much from him. If Morata failed under Carlo which he did, he would fail under Zidane. Nothing surprising to me. I'm more surprised by the overestimation of a forward who has yet to hit 20 goals in all competitions (La Liga, CDR, UCL. friendlies excluded) under a single season. 20 goals is the minimum to be considered elite imfo.
and for Benzema who is having a bad season, 8 league goals, 1 CDR goal, 5 CL goals. 16 goals total to moratas 13 in all comps. Morata has 3 in UCL. not bad but not better to Benz's 5. all this while Benz is having a bad year.
I sincerely hope we cash in on morata and some sucker pays silly money for him. Because I feel Real Madrid can do better for less cash on a vet or testing out a new kid from the academy.

Re: Alvaro Morata returns to Juventus
I sincerely hope we ship off the main forward who can't hit 25 goals in la Liga in 9 years here. Even the likes of Diego Costa did it. Enough with protectionist bullshit. If he can't do it in 9 years then he isn't going to do in future.
Sell Benzema, get a decent striker and keep Morata as back up.
8 goals seriously, even Ramos and Isco has better record.

Re: Alvaro Morata returns to Juventus
tbh playing in spain for madrid origi would get 20 goals. madrid make about 30 chances a game.

Unique clearly doesn't watch us often. Madrid doesn't create all that much chances, also Origi is f-ing rubbish.

Re: Alvaro Morata returns to Juventus
You might want to check how many 25+ goal La Liga seasons players had prior to Ronaldo lol.
Higuain had 1 (27), Raul had 1 (25 exactly). RVN has 1 (25 exactly).... and then you have to go all the way back to 1994-95 when Zamorano had 28. So prior to CR, you only had 3 in 15 years.
And Benzema is not the primary scorer. All the other guys were the top targets when they reaches the milestone. Just to put it in perspective... only double for Benz this season was when CR was out. Season high in shots too in that game.
Not sure if people realize the role of the CF at Madrid right now.

Re: Alvaro Morata returns to Juventus
7-8 years and people still don't understand how the cf role in madrid works.
I don't need a degree of any sort to understand why Benz don't score more than he should. It's been a very, very long time since Real Madrid played with a traditional cf role. it's also part of the reason why Morata failed.
Though for the first time, CR7 IS in definite decline. the role of the madrid cf might change back into the days of old. Something will change in the summer. Morata would have had a better chance if CR7 wasn't here. too bad.

Re: Alvaro Morata returns to Juventus
it's kind of ironic that Conte's Chelsea may be a suitor. Essentially as of now Diego Costa is the starter on Spain's NT and Morata is the mid 2nd half sub. Could change by next summer, but him moving to Chelsea (and if Diego Costa has resolved his differences with Conte), it could be same situation at club and NT.[/quote]

".....with something more than a verbal agreement"
Yes, please, I'll take him if Madrid want to sell. 40-50mil should do the trick.

Re: Alvaro Morata returns to Juventus
he's not good enough to be the starting forward for a top team, if you're gonna have to pay 40m+ you may as well put a little more money on the table and buy an elite forward

Apparently he's already bought a house in London. Seems Chelsea is his likely destination.

Re: Alvaro Morata returns to Juventus
is Conte that much of a fan? I don't think Morata is good enough to be a starter at a top club and I don't think he moves without being a starter.
Maybe he's heading to Arsenal?

Re: Alvaro Morata returns to Juventus
He'd be a good fit for Chelsea, its just what Conte wants, a forward that works for the team, tracks back, etc

Re: Alvaro Morata returns to Juventus
If he's partnered next to a striker that compliments him he'll do well
If whoever buys him is planning on making him the lone #9 and biggest goal threat he'll be dubbed a flop, especially as he'll go for a big price.

Costa has been on his way out since January. The only issue is if Lukaku is the replacement or if it's Morata.

Re: Alvaro Morata returns to Juventus
According to Di Marzio, Milan rep are in Madrid to meet with Real about the transfer this summer. They are managing this option as Aubameyang wants 12 millions net per year, while Morata might have lower expectations in terms of wages.
sell Morata for 80 mil and sign Mbappe for 100-120 mil? lmao
