We don't need a CB this summer. Varane, Ramos and Pepe are good and Vallejo is coming back from loan

We need a winger(left or right, depends on Bale), a defensive midfielder and a striker

Just because he's scoring and mostly tap-ins he's having his best season with us? What made Benzema different and unique was that has was creative and was assisting and connecting(linking) up our attack. Now he has like 2 assists while Ronaldo and Bale have over 10 both and he isn't creating shit.

Because his role is to score this year since Ronaldo started falling off at the end of last season... someone needed to pick up the slack. So Benz needs to be a 30+ goal scorer a season to compensate as opposed to 20+ goals and 10+ assists. The assists have dropped because Ronaldo is no longer the same scorer to assist to.

Benz is a douche... but he can play pretty much any role you want as a striker and very well. No longer love him as a player. But his quality is undeniable. There isn't another that can seamlessly change his style like he does. He sucks for NT mostly which makes him even less likeable for me Laughing

But to get to your point... Benz has the same productivity this year as he always has other than his first year. Namely, top 5 in Europe in terms of G+A per 90 mins. It's just that goals are more sexy so people recognize him more now.

I'm not sold on Navas, he's too insecure with his feet, and relies too much on reflexes, his positioning it's not that great.

pretty much, we lack players who have that 1v1 quality ON THE PITCH and ON THE BENCH lol

you know what's funny about this; if used right, our bench will not be depleted at all. (my apologies to all, but this must be the 1000th time i'm saying this). one of modric or kroos to start; one of isco or james, one of kovacic (i don't think he's a defensie mid though) or casemiro; jese and lucas to compete with bale and cristiano down the flanks. a co-cf to vie for a place with benzema will have to wait till next season obviously.

only problem is, we'll still lack 1 vs 1 quality, which to me is extremely important against stubborn opponents. but for now, i feel such selections instead of having all our expensive midfielders starting will make more sense for the remainder of the season, and even promote some level of competition...then in the summer, we can talk who stays, who goes, and new signings

At the moment we have only 3 players capable of beating a player 1on1, Marcelo, Isco and Modric. Isco and Modric lack pace and Marcelo is a LB. That's why I want Hazard. Hazard and Bale on the wings, james behind a n9

Don't forget kovacic, cr, james, bale. Our problem is not the 1v1 attacking. It's our lack of balance defending space through the midfield. Do you guys even watch the games?

How about, after we shed Ronaldo, we get a competent lateral (actually 3; 2 LBs and one RB to allow for competition and backups) and play Marcelo as LW. That improves defense and helps balance situation. We still would need a DM.

@tito... if you're an established coach like Carlo, you can make these hard choices and players will respect it because you have a history of success. As a new manager without that equity, you would lose the locker room in an instant if you just automatically benched some of the star players. You're forced to prove that something isn't working first AND THEN make the necessary changes.

That's why I personally wanted Zidane to coach at Monaco or Lyon first where his decisions would be unquestioned and he could make any choice he wanted without having to deal with both the locker room politics and internal politics of a club like Real Madrid.

In a sense, he needs to show that he is improving the club WHILE exposing our issues so that he can then implement the changes without fracturing the locker room and with Flo's support.

You can't go solo at Real Madrid. You'll get eaten. Even Mou couldn't do it.

well, at some point he'll have to make the tough decisions regardless of how players think. i understand your point, this season is just a feeling out process for zidane. my hope is that it doesn't become a policy set to appease players and we don't see this same system again next season.

We have players who can cause havoc but they are always injured at crucial times.....
Last season, our downfall was mainly modric and James also.
this season, Bale, Benzema, Ramos, James, and now Marcelo.
We all know our fully-fit team composed of square pegs in round holes is still capable of wrecking havoc if they stay fit..

With that being said,what we need is very simple:
A philosophy and continuity backed up by a good medical team.
We could have got neymar or/and Suarez but i could bet my life that they would not be as good as they are currently....
