Good tactical display and win. But I keep wondering whether players like Kroos and Modric deep down hate playing this way. With all this sitting back, very rarely do they get the opportunity to do what they do best.

Kroos likes to play diagonal balls. In these types of games he has to be good under pressure. Modric is probably just happy the front 3 helped in the defence tbh. He has complained about that befire

Also i am yet to see a Barca fan mention that they lost the midfield when Arda came on and even with 10 men with a hybrid DM/CB we were cutting through their midfield at will. At one point i saw Arda on the left wing playing 1-2 with Neymar. Typical square peg round hole type of situations here. We learnt it the hard way. It may look good against poor teams but against big teams it will get exposed

This does say alot. Either Luche *bleep* it up playing Messi in the middle and making Suarez drop deep (for what purpose!?) or they ignored his tactics and went in for their own tactics. This doesnt make any sense - when RM defend with 5 and 4 in front of that, there is no way Messi in the middle can penetrate. Luche has failed us.

Basically, Suarez, Messi and Rakitic were in eachothers spaces. I can understand Suarez dropping deep but Rakitic and Messi should have tried to keep their positions

True, but Messi in midfield does need a lot of movement in front of him and next to him. RM was static in defense and kept their lines close to eachother - thats why I dont understand Saurez also dropping deep. With him occupying your CB's and Messi on the right we could have stretched the defense more - when this happens alves can move into the right attack and messi can drop in the middle with raki/busi covering him... shame it didnt happen. kudu's for RM for keeping their shape and the thight spaces. made us struggle.
