Kevin De Bruyne had agreed a deal to join Bayern Munich before ending up a Manchester City, according to the midfielder’s agent.

The Belgium international joined City at the end of August in a club-record move that cost upwards of £55 million, including add-ons.

But now De Bruyne’s representative, Patrick De Koster, reveals that the 24-year-old would have ended up at Pep Guardiola’s side if the German champions had paid the asking price.

“Kevin's heart was beating for the Bundesliga, where he broke through at Bremen and became a star at Wolfsburg,” De Koster told Sport / Foot Magazine.

“I’m convinced he would have played for Bayern if they had been able to pay the asking price.

“We reached a personal agreement with Bayern after two meetings. The deal has collapsed on the asking price.

“I think that Bayern wanted to pay €50 million, but no more. In the end City won the race and Kevin is super happy with his move. He adapted fast on and off the pitch.”

So are we all going to ignore how bad his injury has been for Man City?

If anyone needs any convincing he's a great player, this should be it, and it has nothing to do with statistics.

How do you not get that? Like, you're a Barca fan, shouldn't you sympathize with the concept of players not showing up meaningfully in many statistics, yet visibly impacting the overall team performance?

Theyve really missed De Bruyne, he was very much on form before he got injured... amazing how badly Man C's season collapse pretty much as soon as he got injured. Love the player, cant wait to see how he will do next season.

I think you got it backwards here. De Bruyne "apologists" always mention his productivity as his key quality. Take away stats and De Bruyne is nothing, not even a 30 milion footballer.

Maybe City would have a couple points more if De Bruyne wasn't injured, but it's obvious that they're not in a great moment, with or without De Bruyne. Their defence is vulnerable, their midfield slow, their wingers meh, Silva's having his worse season in 5 or 6 years and even Aguero has been mostly a flat-track bully this season instead of showing up in the most important games (10 out of Aguero's 16 PL goals have come against the bottom-5 teams). One player's injury isn't the difference here.

Complaining about ex-Real players drawing favourable opponents when the draw was made by ex-Barca player Zambrotta?

Clueless? Dude, we are talking about a draw, it's not like there's any knoweledge to have about it. I had no idea who was drawing and I still don't as I haven't watched a signle image of the draw ceremony, while Madrid fans were saying it was Figo.
If it was Zambrotta, good. It's always nice to have a break from the ex-Real Madrid's players festival. Surely it will do good to his finances either, uncle Flo will take care of that.

De Bruyne is also a very good footballer - He is obviously efficient but a good player.

See there is no use debating when someone will chose facts to suit their opinions or is seeing thinks from colored glasses - If you have made your mind or have a negative mind about someone, you will always find something negative.

This guy is a top CAM, one of the best CAM's in the world!

I can buy that they're a little more distracted, a little more unprepared, maybe Pellegrini himself isn't trying as hard, but with the title within reach like it was I refuse to believe the players "don't give a shit" after the announcement. I understand you probably think that because of newcastle, but I'm just going to go ahead and say no.

And yes there are other factors to take into account as well. However I don't think its mere coincidence that City's worst form came right When Dr Bruyne got injured.

De Bruyne is a top top player, this isnt even a debate surely now all can see. Hes just so complete, his plays is amazingly complete, hes got the physique, technique, vision, eye for goal, team play, and works so hard, one of the best in the world for me.

Hes been the star player of the German league and the stand out player for Man C, also for Belgium NT. Not saying hes perfect of course and will be interesting to see how he fits into Peps team since Pep likes to control so much his players movements and positions and De Bruyne seems like a player who loves to roam all over the place since hes so complete.

Selling him was Mourinho's biggest mistake, better than Hazard.
