Well he went from being a very important player at Verona with a lot of freedom to dictate play and really interlink with a true prima punta like Luca Toni to an often strikerless system (with and with an actual striker on the pitch) fully dependent on wing play. I think this is where he struggled at Roma as Garcia saw him as simply just another winger in his system of pace-driven wingers where in actuality, he's got some trickery to his game that we never got to really see as Rudi either refused to or didn't know how to tap into that. We saw glimpses, but never a full picture of his potential unlike what we saw with Lamela. I personally think he would've thrived under Zeman, just as Coco did.

And yet I don't buy that he's just not good enough for Roma. I think our tactics had just as much to do with it. He tried his best, but I don't think he had know-how to adapt to the system. As a result, his confidence dipped drastically.

Just wasn't a good match for player or club. He seems a good guy though so I'll keep following him. I hope he recovers. A side like Bournemouth or Watford can help rejuvenate his career as I think he's clearly talented. I almost put this in the "Bojan" folder of Roma transfers. We all know what he's doing at Stoke now afterall.
