Santi Cazorla and Theo Walcott sign new deals
http://www.arsenal.com/news/news-archive/20150731/cazorla-and-walcott-sign-new-deals
According to @bbcsport_david, Walcott has signed until 2019 on £140k p/w.
Cazorla will probably be receiving a similar wage. Still waiting for more details on his extension. At least this puts to rest those rumors of him leaving that were floating around earlier this summer and last season.

Re: Santi Cazorla and Theo Walcott sign new deals
Both of them seem to sign new contracts every other year. In fact Cazorla has signed one just last year

Can't fault us for appreciating players who are star performers. Ramsey also signed two contracts in quick succession, the first one being the 'British Core' one.
_________
Still absolutely buzzing with this. There was a time, not too long ago, when contract externsions used to drag on forever or end with us losing a player for free or 'footballing reasons'.

Re: Santi Cazorla and Theo Walcott sign new deals
Santi's just getting a pay rise, probably, either to reflect his status as one of the most important players at the club (up there with Cech, Ozil and Alexis) or as a reward for good form. Ramsey's recent deal was the same.
When Walcott extended in 2013 he only signed for another two and a half years. He probably wanted to see if the club really were going to be as ambitious as they promised they would. Now that we have shown that, he's agreed to stay another four years.
Just shows how important the last couple of years has been for the club.

No doubt Cazorla absolutely deserves it.
As for Walcott, that's the price you have to play for English players, if he becomes our first choice striker it's well worth it.

Re: Santi Cazorla and Theo Walcott sign new deals
´Let's not forget, Theo is the longest serving member now with >300 appearances, he's 26 and entering the 'prime striker age'. I think the price is very much justified.
Everyone is aware of his weaknesses. The question is, can he make his strengths count enough to outweigh the weaknesses. I strongly believe that he can. This is why I am so excited by this.

Re: Santi Cazorla and Theo Walcott sign new deals
All I want from Theo is for him to score 15-20 goals a season, which, if given a full season, he can do easily. Doesn't matter if he's playing wide or centrally.
I fully expect him to have >100 goals for Arsenal by the time this contract comes to an end.

That's low. 4 year contract and he's already on 76. I think it would be great, and also realistic if he has a complete and fit season, that he hits 100 by this time next year. 18 months max.

As good as new signings in my opinion, Santi's form as a deep lying playmaker last year was almost like a having a new player.

Holy shit
New contracts for Theo and santi
AND EL PATROL
Fantastic news re contracts. Was far more important to keep them at Arsenal than to let them go for little money issue. Been a long time we had such a close squad.

Re: Santi Cazorla and Theo Walcott sign new deals
Great tweet I read regarding Theo
Theo always haggles over wages and position, but fair play to him for never ever threatening us unlike other players in other teams.
I really think he genuinely loves staying at Arsenal and will most likely stay with us till he is 30 at least
P.I.M.P. @PoznanInMyPants
We didnt see single story in media about Theo going to different club. Does he get any credit for that? In this age of football, incredible.

Re: Santi Cazorla and Theo Walcott sign new deals
Still think Theo can be Henry 2.0.
And still think Theo can go well past RvP's goal records if he stays.
Wouldn't that be a treat.
I know I am setting myself up massively with these expectations. Let's hope this is more like my expectations from Ramsey (when half this forum wanted him sold/benched) than those with Lansbury ( )
