Yes it did. Every bit as Sneijder's did who everyone and their mother claimed deserved it in 2010.

Ribery was the most important factor in Bayern's success that year, without him they were lost offensively. It wasn't just about the goals and assists it was how he made it work look a well oiled machine, he was the key cog to make all of that work.

It was shown in almost every big game he didn't play that year they lost and they looked lost as a team. Besides if you don't want to give it to Ribery for whatever stupid reason give it to a Bayern player ffs.

All Ronaldo did that year was stat pad against shit teams, he did *bleep* all in big games. Key example being against Dortmund where he was a complete and utter non factor in both legs, and Dortmund ever exploited him defensively where nearly every attack came through double and triple teams down that side in almost every attack

There's no way in hell he deserved it that year, if you say he does then you are supporting meaningless goals against scrubs in the middle of the season and ignoring someones impact in games which decide where the trophies go.

the trophy is supposed to go to the best player in world , not the best player in the best team at the moment .
you shouldn't penalize Ronaldo for his team's shortcomings , he showed up in the majority of the big games that season and your more than content to just reduce his performance to the trophyless season and the dortmund game when the whole team got pressed into oblivion and Xabi decided that he's a Dortmund CAM and not a real DM . scored the winner against City in the group stages .
scored the two decisive goals against manchester in the second round .
scored the 3 goals that made the difference against Galatasaray in the QF .
scored a crucial away goal against Dortmund that proved irrelevant because the whole team collapsed in the second half .

scored a brace against Barcelona in the first clasico .
scored the 2 decisive goals that KO'd barça out of the copa semi finals .

opened the score in the copa final and hit the post , you can hardly make the claim that he didn't show up .

not winning silverware with your team shouldn't exclude you from winning the ballon d'or .

On topic, since Messi returned to top form end of last year, it's really not a debate.

Messi won the semi pretty much on his own. Ronaldo was a no show.
It's only half of the year gone by so obviously too early for a final judgement, but so far this year Ronaldo isn't fit to lace Messi's boots, and this is not in any way contentious.

Yes he did. Who finishes 2nd and 3rd will depend on who plays best on October/November. Suarez, Messi, Neymar, maybe an outside chance of Pogba or Tevez if Juve win CL and they play good around that period.

25% fame
25% goals

So going with this criteria
Trophies - Messi/Neymar
Performance - Messi/Neymar
Fame - Messi/Ronaldo
Goals - Messi/Ronaldo

Messi takes it. 2nd place will be between CR and Neymar. CR is there because of fame and goals. Neymar is there because of trophies and performance. Messi has all of them

I think it's pretty much done and dusted, but remembering 2013 ballon d'Or to Cristiano... everything can happen if he scores a gazilions goals in the first half of the league next season.

MEssi has to win it this year. Just imagine Ronaldo winning again and that would mean they have won 4 each. Personally Messi is definitely the better player so it would be weird and injustice for this to happen, of cos unless Ronaldo has an amazing second half of the year and enough to eclipse Messi's, unlikely.
