Which Team had the Most Spectacular Collapse???
Which Team had the Most Spectacular Collapse???
Marseilles, Roma and Derby had a wonderful early season and looked set to achieve their respective goals. Here I will speculate that CL qualifications and EPL promotion were the goals for OM & Roma and Derby respectively.
However, around the halfway point all three teams experienced a spectacular collapse. Although Roma still has the opportunity to seal CL (group-stage) qualification, I guess their fans and neutrals expected them to wrap it up long ago. The cases of Marseilles and Derby are even more sinister. Having led the table for half-a-season, OM are currently in risk of missing out of even Europa League to ASSE. Derby too occupied the league pinnacle for a considerable time, before ending up outside play-off spots.
So who was the biggest chokers, given their respective resources and objectives?

Need to wait and see where Marseille and Roma finish, at the moment it's Derby for me. If Roma don't finish in the CL spots, then it's them.

Newcastle
Derby, not even close. From first after 33 games to 8th and not even the playoffs at the end of the season is huge.
Roma can still finish 2nd which is exactly what they could hope for.. and Marseille were just lucky to be that high, they were always going to drop.

Yes imo Sturridge 2013-2014 was better than Aguero. This season obviously Aguero is better and probably is overall as well.

If a fit Sturridge could do it once, There is absolutely no reason why he couldn't do it again. Bore off Lex.

I mean is it really surprising? It was the magic of Pardiola which made a relegation battling team like Newcastle go near CL places. After he left and they got a normal manager they went to their true level.
All hail Pardiola. He is world class, no more proof needed.

If you could read, You would notice how the OP meant this season from great forms to unexpected demise.
You just couldn't let go an opportunity to troll.

Madrid and New Castle or me. I can't believe what has happened to the latter. They can actually get relegated
