I'm aware of that but I'm talking about being a consistent elite team which gets to the semis consistently like Madrid, Bayern and Barca do. For that to happen Juve needs more imagination and pace.
I'm intrigued to see what you do tbh, I heard of Dybala but not really seen him so I won't comment.
Also Surag I did and that's fair enough.

Re: CL Final: Juventus Vs Barcelona
Marchisio was definitely the best Juve midfielder yesterday.
But I don't know if I must say just " yesterday" , definitely a great season played by him.
I feel he is a bit underrated by not Juve fans because his job is "darkest" than others
Pirlo hadn't a great season this year.
Pogba and MArchisio better than last year , Vidal and Pirlo worsened. Pirlo because of age ... Vidal .. I think Conte got the best by him
Maybe it wasn't the ideal match for this Pirlo , considering Pereyra was legit in last matches ( in that case Pereyra as CAM ) , but tbh is enough difficult to keep away Pirlo in certain matches

Oh dont get me wrong, Juve can and should get better for consistency at the highest level, i just think we are on a very good path and our future looks very bright.
Madrid on the other hand......(not that u are a rm fan though)

Juve lack imagination and pace, for them to be a consistent threat for years to come they desperately need to add some to go along with their defence and midfield.
If you don't and just do what you want them to do you'll always fall short.
gotta agree with mole here, luckily Coman, Dybala and Berardi are kids to look out for...

Madrid will always be there tbh, they'll throw enough stupid money at something until it sticks. Tbh I'd like it if the usual giants *bleep* up but I can't see it sadly.

Re: CL Final: Juventus Vs Barcelona
I know Italian-Americans/Canadians/Australians unconditionally support any Italian team in Europe.
My take on this is,as long as its not unconditional support, its fine imo.Nothing wrong with that.If Serie A was in a half-decent state, nobody would've bothered to do so but when you see the management of various clubs in Serie A rooting for Italians to do well in Europe,it does seem like they want to see the league back in a good shape.
I for example dont root for Inter and Milan in Europe and sometimes Roma too.But that doesnt mean i am not for a league having more quality teams.I would've preferred someone other than Milan or inter or Roma get a rich owner and spend money but it isnt going to happen. If Milan are going to spend big and improve the quality of the league, then so be it and but i am not rooting for them ofcourse.
On a sidenote, nobody is going to give you a certificate for being the 'greatest fan ever' for rooting against rival teams but at the end of the day,its each to their own.
Your hate for rival clubs should not overwhelm the love for your club.Lets keep that in mind.

Wtf is this penalty stuff I've been hearing? How was that a pen? And most of all, did people forget Barcelona were also denied a penalty when neymars cut back hit the arm of a juve defender?

Neither was a penalty and the ref did a great job, also on disallowing Nermans handball goal.
I tihnk the refs did a decent job overall.

The refs did an excellent job - credit where credit is due. After this game, people were only talking about the football. Some of the less talented commentators were trying to drum up controversy, but the big decisions were all correct.linetty wrote:Bankz wrote:Wtf is this penalty stuff I've been hearing? Re: CL Final: Juventus Vs Barcelona
How was that not a penalty? Alves dragged Pogba to the floor. 15 minutes later, Pogba recovered the ball from Alves and Alves threw himself on the floor and that was foul. Lichsteiner's "handball" was not a penalty.
Im not gonna enter a debate, Barca won fair and square, period. However, that call was at least dubious at the least. Next year we will win it!

Come on. It was a soft challenge, you don't call penals for that.

100% Agree. Bayern, Madrid and Barcelona will all make it to the semis now regularly but you will have the occasional JUve, Atleticos depending on the draw. The gap between those 3 and the rest of Europe is frightening.

Agreed.Though with the PL teams having so much money, imo it will eventually prevail in the end.

By the way was Neymars goal rightfully disallowed? It seems that his hand wasn't intended to interact with the ball. Just asking, what does the rulebook say? As for the penalties I think ref did a good job not awarding any of them

I bet you weren't saying that when we reached 3 finals in 4 years
I for one welcome our German/Spanish overlords.

I looked at the rules and yes it does, it has to be intentional.
Mainly because the entire chat was telling me otherwise, Mole wins again

Re: CL Final: Juventus Vs Barcelona
I wont get into any arguments but till my last breath I will stand by that had a penalty been awarded, we would have won our third CL title. We had momentum and were pushing for a goal, creating chances and coming close. Pogba then receives the ball and gets taken down by Alves with a hand over his shoulder and then Alves proceeds to literally pin him down, causing Pogba to get infuriated with the non call.
I know people will disagree with me over this but that is just what I saw.

Re: CL Final: Juventus Vs Barcelona
Also, the third (unallowed goal) and third (actual goal) would have not been scored had we gone up 2-1. At that point in the match, with Barca up a goal, we were pushing up the pitch to try and save the match which inevitably led to holes in our defense and too many players up the field to help. Had we scored on the penalty (if it was called), we would have dropped deep and bunkered down right away.

As someone watching the final who would have just LOVED to see Juve beat Barca, I have to admit that I don't think this duel between Alves and Pogba was in any way penalty worthy.
The ref had a good game, and even that penalty box ref for the first time in football history made a good decision with Neymar's handball goal.
