El Cujo's grudge against Sturridge is hilarious.

Re: Liverpool vs. Newcastle
There's no grudge Sep. Do you deny that he hasn't been anywhere near as good since his return from injury in January?
I understand that the man needs time to get back to his best but it's been 4 months. It's April now ffs.

I can count the games on my fingers, The games that i'd give Sturridge a 8/10. He's always been frustrating. But the fact is that he can be shit all game but he always manages to scores that important goal counts.
He almost did the same against Blackburn. He's just rusty from his constant injuries. Im not worried about him, He'll show his class soon enough.

Re: Liverpool vs. Newcastle
the continuous injuries have taken a toll over him. It feels like he is frustrated with himself after all these injuries and he is at a stage where things are not simply happening for him

He keeps on indirectly saying "Sturridge isn't good for this team", need an upgrade etc....while glorifying average joes likes of Lovren, Henderson, Allen, etc who don't have 10% of Sturridge's natural ability.
He's been out for 5 months. Remember how awful we were when he was out ? He's had like 7-8 starts since coming back and scored 4-5 goals. Don't judge him on these 2 months...judge him on 1.5 months of Torres/Suarez-esque form for us before that injury.

Re: Liverpool vs. Newcastle
We definitely need at least someone good enough as Sturridge to come in as a striker, look he was brilliant last season, he had a horrid injury spell this season and hasn't hit back his top form yet, which i believe will come, probably next season though. But we can't go into next Season with him not having someone to challenge him for that role, cause if he gets injured again and he does a few months out, it's too detrimental to our season.

Re: Liverpool vs. Newcastle
I definitely agree with that. We have to treat Sturridge as a luxury. We CANNOT rely on him as our only star striker. Simply because we all know he's injury prone and will probably be injured again next season. Bring in someone we can count on. It never hurt anybody to have some competition for their spot.

Re: Liverpool vs. Newcastle
To be fair to Sturridge, we're having a season during which everyone who has played striker has had underwhelming periods out there. Some of the blame lies with the midfielders and the attacking strategy (or lack of it) when we look out of ideas against deep-defending teams. Our top scorer in the Prem is still just six goals - I wonder when's the last time our top scorer in the league will probably be less than 10 goals? - that tells it's story that we've struggled to create systematic scoring chances.

Re: Liverpool vs. Newcastle
It's really been horrific on us that we went from 100 goals in the league to 45. We have 45 effing goals ffs. It feels almost like Kenny's season where we scored 47 all season.

Henderson an average joe?
You were saying Lovren was the best CB when we signed him earlier this year. And you normally have a hard on for Joe Allen, so what's happened?
Literally don't understand you sometimes.

I give every signing a chance. I never slag a player off before he plays for us. If it's "calling them the best" as you say, then it's your issue.
and yea, I have criticized Allen a lot this season.
and yes...if we are going to make Jordan Henderson our captain and a main-stay in the midfield, we need significantly better technical players around him to cover for his technical deficiencies. It's like building a midfield around Darren Fletcher.
Depends on our asparations of course.

The second thing I've agreed with you after the "sign Milner" agreement we had couple of months ago.

Re: Liverpool vs. Newcastle
Henderson's limited technical ability isn't that bad, imo, because his passing and movement and vision are great. If he has the ball in midfield, he can get the play up-field with his passing and movement. Someone like Allen is equally limited technically, but he lacks Henderson's determinated pass-&-move drive forward.

Re: Liverpool vs. Newcastle
We better keep the ball coz our defense is going to be crap.
On the other hand, if we let them have the ball and have a go at our crap defense, we could counter them, which seems to be our best strength in attack, so maybe we should do that and take a 5 - 4 win.
