Re: Summer Silly Season: Official Thread
Reports suggest Liverpool will continue their efforts to sign Stoke's Ryan Shawcross by offering Christian Poulsen as part of the deal.
Now wouldn't that make us the happiest bunch of people on earth! ! we get a CB & we get rid of Poulsen! ! that is like Christmas in August! ! :O :lol!:
wish the source was more reliable!

Ngog on the verge of Bolton move.
http://www.liverpooldailypost.co.uk/liverpool-fc/liverpool-fc-news/2011/08/18/liverpool-fc-striker-david-ngog-set-for-anfield-exit-92534-29255852/
"KENNY DALGLISH’S clearout of his Liverpool FC squad is set to continue with striker David Ngog on the verge of joining Bolton Wanderers.
The 22-year-old has been deemed surplus to requirements at Anfield this summer, and is now closing in on a £4million switch to the Reebok Stadium.
Trotters manager Owen Coyle has been desperate to add a striker to his squad all summer, and having missed out on Chelsea’s Daniel Sturridge, has identified Ngog as his ideal solution.
Coyle admitted after his side’s 4-0 victory over Queens Park Rangers on Saturday that he was in the market for a forward, despite the addition of Turkish star Tuncay last week.
Talks concerning Ngog have been ongoing for the past two weeks and a fee is now close to being agreed.
West Ham have also expressed an interest, but a move to Bolton could take place before the Trotters’ clash with Manchester City on Sunday.
Ngog joined Liverpool from French side Paris St Germain for £1.5m in the summer of 2008, and made 94 appearances for the Anfield outfit, scoring 19 goals.
He proved an able deputy for first choice Fernando Torres under both Rafael Benitez and Roy Hodgson, but Dalglish’s arrival, coupled with those of strikers Andy Carroll and Luis Suarez back in January, saw his opportunities limited.
He is yet to make a Barclays Premier League start under Dalglish, and was expected to join Sunderland earlier this summer, but saw a move to Wearside fall through after he was unable to agree personal terms.
But with just one year remaining on his Anfield contract, a move to Coyle’s improving side could be in the best interests of all parties.
Ngog’s departure, however, will not have any bearing on a potential Liverpool bid for Wanderers defender Gary Cahill.
The 25-year-old has been persistently linked with a move away from the Reebok this summer, with Liverpool, along with Arsenal and Tottenham, listed as possible suitors.
Yet though Dalglish is keen to sign an additional central defender, Bolton’s £15m asking price for Cahill – another player with just one year left on his contract – is unlikely to be met..."

Re: Summer Silly Season: Official Thread
OUT-OF-FAVOUR Liverpool striker David Ngog is closing in on a move to Bolton Wanderers.
Trotters chiefs have been locked in talks regarding the French striker for the past fortnight, and are now on the verge of securing a £4m deal for the 22-year-old, who is surplus to requirements at Anfield.
Ngog, who has one year remaining on his Liverpool contract, had been expected to leave the club earlier this summer when he was given permission to speak to Sunderland. That move, however, fell down when he was unable to agree personal terms with the Wearsiders.
Bolton boss Owen Coyle admitted after his side’s win over Queens Park Rangers on Saturday that he was desperate to add a striker to his ranks, having admitted defeat in his attempts to sign Daniel Sturridge on loan from Chelsea.
Wanderers would be able to match Ngog’s Anfield salary, and could tie up the transfer in time for their clash with Manchester City on Sunday.
Ngog has made 94 appearances since arriving at Anfield from Paris St. Germain in the summer of 2008, scoring 19 goals.
But the arrivals of Andy Carroll and Luis Suarez back in January have pushed him further down the pecking order under Kenny Dalglish.
He was an unused substitute for the Reds’ Premier League opener with Sunderland on Saturday, and with Dalglish looking to trim his squad before making any further additons, a move appears in the best interests of all concerned.
The Echo understands, however, that Ngog’s imminent move is not linked to any Reds bid for Gary Cahill, who has been touted as a potential Reds target.
Liverpool, along with Arsenal and Tottenham, are reported to be interested in the 25-year-old defender, who is valued by Wanderers at around £15m.
But though Dalglish would like to add a centre-back to his squad before the end of the transfer window, a move for Cahill - who also has one year left on his contract - is unlikely at that price.
Dalglish would also, ideally, like to replace Ngog in his squad, but has the option of using Dirk Kuyt as forward cover.
Meanwhile, defender Daniel Agger will be fit for Saturday’s trip to Arsenal.
The Dane picked up a dead leg in the game against Sunderland at the weekend, but has made a full recovery, and will be available for selection at the Emirates.
Arsenal’s Alex Song, though, will miss out, having admitted an FA charge of violent conduct. Television replays showed the Cameroon midfielder stamping on Newcastle’s Joey Barton during the sides’ goalless draw at St James’ Park on Saturday, and he will now serve a three-game ban

Ryad Boudebouz as Ngog replacement?
http://www.theboltonnews.co.uk/sport/wanderers/wanderersnews/9202944.N_gog_moves_closer_to_Wanderers_switch/
Decent source too.

DAVID N’Gog’s much-anticipated move to Wanderers should click into gear by the end of this week.
Sources on Merseyside suggest the Reds are preparing a bid for Sochaux’s Ryad Boudebouz, which would then pave the way for Owen Coyle to open talks with the £4million-rated Frenchman.
The Whites have chased N’Gog for a month, having dropped their interest in Jeffren Suarez, and have seen two previous offers turned down.
Their most recent bid – which is thought to include a handful of add-ons depending on his success – has been on the table for a fortnight.
But with Kenny Dalglish keen to avoid leaving himself short, the deal has remained on hiatus until director of football Damien Commolli searched for a successor.
That job is set to go to Algeria international Boudebouz, who is available at €7m, or around £6.1m.
Decent source too.

Well, I'm all for replacing N'Gog with another not-a-big-name striker.

What do you guys know about this Algerian!!! I'm a bit scared about about our African imports, apart from Titi Camara & Song (in long gone days) none have done justice to the continent.

Poulsen's agent has once again reiterated his client will likely leave Liverpool and there are clubs interested in his client. He told the Danish newspaper Børsen that his client will be looking to leave in order to get first-team football for selection to the Danish national team. On Friday, he told the Danish press that Poulsen wants a permanent move, rather than a loan, because he has his family to think about.
On Saturday, he told Børsen that:
On Saturday, he told Børsen that:
"The priority for Christian is football, so yes, he would also like to find a new club for the national team's sake. He's not the type who [wants to] sit in the grandstand to earn his salary. He is a footballer and football players want to play football, so now we need to find a club for him where he can get playing time. There is already great interest in Christian"

As long as we don't overpay, I'd welcome Rodallega as our 2nd choice front man.
He has scored 10 and 9 BPL goals for Wigan in the previous two seasons, which isn't too shabby considering Wigan are a bottom-half-of-the-table team.

Kenny Dalglish is considering a shock £10million move for Wolves striker Kevin Doyle, while Tottenham are eyeing a fresh swoop for Gary Cahill.

Meireles won't be going to Chelsea.
We won't be signing Doyle.
We will not be selling Kuyt.
With Kyrgiakos's exit, however, I would not be surprised to see another CB brought in. Coates and Cahill are the latest to have been linked.

Won't comment on the first three statements as i myself weren't convinced . . just posted rumors
But know anything about Coates?? How is the guy?
I presume considering our concentration on British talents Cahill has a more realistic chance!

Re: Summer Silly Season: Official Thread
Coates was voted best young player at the Copa, I believe.
He's a 20 year old Uruguayan CB who's big, strong but quick for his size. Would be a direct replacement for Kyrgiakos in terms of aerially ability but given his age and performances over the past season he could probably fight for a starting spot (assuming he settled well).
No idea how solid the connection is, though.

O sounds good! also 6ft 6inches! taller then Carroll :!: now even Carra might hoof it back
Liverpool have identified the Uruguayan centre-back Sebastian Coates as Kenny Dalglish’s sixth signing of the summer and are confident of completing a £12 million deal for the 20 year-old before the end of the month.
Telegraph has always been a decent source but then again Rory Smith has been a scumbag recently up in twitter
