Re: Granada 1-3 Barcelona
Granada did not look like a bottom team struggling in relegation zone. they pressed us very well, created very good chances and at times i was scared of conceding goals because of the way they had been winning the ball from us, specially right after our first goal. We were lucky to score that first goal, suarez should have done better to find Rakitic in the huge space in the box instead went for a meaningless shot which could easily be cleared in other day. he took his goal fantastically though. him being in offside countless time is just pathetic. i could not stop laughing when he was called offside even near the midline. the guy just cant stand inside.
Barta looked solid but then again made two great mistakes, one called for penalty, the other he was lucky not to be called.
Neymar was the worst player on the picth. it was clearly annoying to watch him play. sloppy passes, could not control simple balls, lost the balls too easily- did everything wrong yet remained on the pitch fulltime for some unknown reason. why suarez was taken out instead of him is not clear to me. he posses no threat with his current fatigued condition.
Messi back to his previous condition about scoring??? he played well in the mid but the way he missed few chances to score was very disappointing.
Rakitic did great to take the chance for scoring the first and then creating for suarez the second. I am hopeful about both rakitic and rafinha, both seems to be improving.
finally, bravo extending the time for the young German on the bench with 2 very nice saves.

Re: Granada 1-3 Barcelona
This game just reinforced all the things wrong with Enrique's system.Zero control of the game and zero control of the midfield.Which has been the case pretty much all season. This is the time fussball will come up and say that we are averaging more possession than Pep's Barca and current Bayern.
Prime reason why stats cant be trusted.
Yes,statistically we may have as much possession as Pep's Barca or current Bayern. But analyzing the game, one would find that most of the possession is had out wide and not in midfield. The possession is monopolized by the wide forwards and the fullbacks. The CM's have been marginalized and delegated to covering the fullbacks.Whereas previously the CM's playmaked and controlled the ball in the middle, now the sidebacks advance the play
Alba sees more of the ball and has more touches and passes of the ball than Xavi and Iniesta in a game.
Tells you all you need to know when the least intelligent player in the squad has the most touches and passes.
Just think about that for a moment.Jordi Alba averages more passes than Xavi and Iniesta
More possession than Pep's Barca and Bayern indeed.
Take yesterday's game for example.Xavi had just 28 passes in 60 plus minutes.Something unthinkable even last year. Why?
Because he is asked to play in a rigid zone all the time and maintain position at all times.Granada simply had a player on him at all times.Whereas previously he would have wandered to seek the ball and shake off his marker,he cant now because he is positionally constrained. As a result, the ball keeps going to that scrub Alba and the result is what we saw.No midfield control and an eyesore of a match. The problem was exacerbated by the fact that Masch played instead of Busquets.Busquets for all his questionable play(mainly the fooling around near our box) helps in midfield control and sprays the ball around well. With Masch,we lacked whatever little.midfield control we normally have.
Scrubrique has basically left the playmaking to the fullbacks and forwards. It works because Messi is a GOAT and is as good a passer as any.It also helps that Alves is the greatest passing defender ever(people who ask that he be dropped dont have a clue how badly the system will fail with him out).
But when Messi has an off day like yesterday and Neymar also stinks, then the system falls apart. And the forwards will have more off days as the season progresses as they are being played all the time.Neymar and Suarez are not used to playing every 3 days week in week out.Neymar is already tired and soon Suarez will be too.

I would love to hear fussball try and justify that scrub Alba having more touches and passes than pretty much everyone in the team.

Re: Granada 1-3 Barcelona
A pretty boring game and a very unimpressive performance. But I will accept the 3 points away from home. this is Barcelona, results and performance cant be confused and I wouldnt want to see many games like this.
Rakitic was the only guy who I had a good feeling about watching the game, he had a good game and was rewarded with a goal and assist to keep the stat keepers happy.
