Granada - Barcelona
Barça boss Gerardo Martino announced the 18 men who will travel to Granada for Saturday’s La Liga encounter. Centre back Marc Bartra pulled his right hamstring in training this morning and although the injury doesn’t seem too serious, he is being rested this weekend as a precautionary measure. And with Gerard Piqué and Carles Puyol ruled out with injury, the travelling squad does not include a single natural central-defender!
Squad: Pinto, Oier, Montoya, Alves, Adriano, Jordi Alba, Mascherano, Song, Busquets, Sergi Roberto, Xavi, Iniesta, Cesc, Tello, Messi, Alexis, Neymar Jr, Pedro

Only thing I can do to protest is not watch the game. It will be far too depressing to watch a CB pairing of Mascherano and Adriano. I'll check the scoreline afterwards.
Blessing in disguise now that we're out of the CL. Going into the semis with Mascherano, Song, Adriano in central defense.

Catalan socis don't care about football. They fill the stadium twice a year for the Clasicos so they can chant "independencia" against the capital club and that's all they care about. 70 % "yes" for this board's stadium project says it all despite everything that has happened this season.

Re: Granada - Barcelona
I would rather see Song or Busquets back there than Adriano, him and Mascherano is just far too small.
Song can stay back and try (fail but still) to read the offside trap and step up, meanwhile Mascherano does his usual wreckless 50-50 running out the back tackling/fouling.

Re: Granada - Barcelona
Well it was an interesting run. Right now without a decent CB we will loose both remaining competitions. Especially while some players are saving themselves for the WC.
EDIT:
The most pathetic part of this game is 83% possession and no goal after 57 minutes, and not the first time to come to such stats. Do we need someone to slap this in our manangements face to finally react?
EDIT: 72 min, 85% possession, keeps getting better!

Re: Granada - Barcelona
I'd honestly bench our complete line of forwards that played tonight. The league is lost anyway.
EDIT:
So we lose the game with 85-86% possession. Isn't that weird that we keep doing this? ANd is it me or doesnt this keep happening more often?

Re: Granada - Barcelona
Saw the last 20 minutes. Absolutely awful. There was no midfield but Iniesta doing everyone's job. Tata putting Messi, Pedro, sanchez and Neymar upfront for some group hug or some shit. Busquets and Mascherano at CB in an away game...

As I said in another thread, this reminds of the 08 team.

Pathetic really. I'll just watch the copa next week then I'll call it quits for this season. I don't like wasting 90 mins of my life for garbage.

To be honest, I lost all hope after Tata came out and said that Barca ain't buying a new defender because Puyol is like a new signing. Barca is on its way back to mediocrity till 2016 at least.

Re: Granada - Barcelona
I think we are still in the fight for the league, it is very unlikely that Atleti will not lose any points in this final stretch, especially considering they're still in the CL. They only need to draw once for us to be in the race again.
About this match, same old problems compounded by some bad defending. When Pinto and Montoya are the best Barca players on the pitch you know we have a problem. Iniesta was fairly good as well. I feel like Neymar gets away with subpar performances because of how flashy he is, when if Pedro or Alexis missed similar chances they would get slaughtered for it. Cesc as per usual contributed nothing other than turnovers and misplaced passes. We had so many pointless crosses that I think we should buy a CF just so that I can no longer complain about this.
That being said on paper the team that played today from the midfield downwards is decidedly midtable, we clearly gambled on having our stars rested for the Copa final/dealing with injuries. Let's hope it pays off.

Re: Granada - Barcelona
Sooner or later, it was coming and the earlier the better. Last few seasons we were too obsessed with few things, even though we were not playing the same level we used to be. We were obsessed with
1. we still being a team to beat
2. we still a CL favorite
3. we are not a buying club, we produce best graduates
4. we are winning at least one trophy every year
5. our player winning Ballon D 'Or
6. we always have some players in different best XI version (uefa, french magazine etc.)
7. sixth time straight in CL semis
8. in CL quarter since 2003
we needed a slap on our face to to come out of these.............everyone top to bottom in this club are obsessed with this. that was their motivation - a false and weak. and then there are criminals who doing every damage, resigned for his sake.

Re: Granada - Barcelona
Not at all surprised now. We werent exactly crap, but we werent good enough. We did create many chances but not really clear cut, our finishing was poor. Our defending remains crap and Pinto again shown hes just not as good as Valdes, not trying to blame anyone..... Xavi was out injured I guess, as with Alves?
This shows that cycles is in motion, we domianted and winning a few years, and now it seems like we wont win the league or even the cup

Nothing new here, we can't score if it's not from counterattack thanks to Tata.

Yeah, let's put all the blame on the coach and nothing on the incompetent management of més que un fraufree_cat wrote:Nothing new here, we can't score if it's not from counterattack thanks to Tata.
Who hired Martino in the first place?
Re: Granada - Barcelona
When I have not blamed the management? they suck and are leaving our club devastated. It wont grow grass for a decade after these idiots leave. However, this doesn't exempt Tata martino for not being good enough.
