Don't know about the credibility of this but seems like Italy now have a collective bargaining arrangement similar to the PL. They used to do it individually like Spain. Should be a nice little bump for them.
Though correct me if I'm wrong there. I don't know much about the TV deals in Italy.
And Bundesliga is just laughable. Rwo indulge us por favor.

Well, that's because in Germany people don't really like to pay for PayTV. Sky Germany has maybe 4 mio subscribers (only a small part of which actually subscribe to the sports package), while in the UK, Sky has about 11 mio subscribers, among them 5 mio Sky Sports subscribers.Don't call me James wrote:And Bundesliga is just laughable. Moreover, in the UK, Sky has competition and they got into a bidding war, raising the money offered to the PL. So you can expect a lot more money being generated in the UK TV market.

Not like we need the money, which is why I hope for a more even deal in percentages for Spain. The smaller clubs could use those millions more than us.

Funnily enough it's Barca that accepts sharing the money more equally but uncle Flo doesn't like the idea.

You guys accused me of trolling when I said that the TV money was evening out the league in the EPL but this is plainly true when Hull is bringing in more TV money than Valencia, Inter, Bayern and PSG.

And there's just been a new, increased deal, where Sky and BT paid £5.1bn for three seasons from '16-'17, the previous deal was £3bn

The fact that Bayern is among the top 10 clubs, alo in terms of revenue, playing in a non-English-speaking league, with such a disparity in TV money - shows how good their commercial wing is. Bloody hell that's a good story.

Especially as in Germany the matchday revenue is not so big either due to the sensible ticket pricing.srigooner wrote:The fact that Bayern is among the top 10 clubs, alo in terms of revenue, playing in a non-English-speaking league, with such a disparity in TV money - shows how good their commercial wing is. surely with the new 5b deal coming through FA should regulate ticket prices so clubs like Arsenal and co dont keep jacking up their prices.

Re: TV Money Top 5 Leagues | 2013-14
Wait, why do you call out Arsenal specifically?
I find it a bit funny when people who are not in UK buying season tickets bring that up to beat Arsenal.
However, even for the sake of being a good samaritan and discussion, the average increase since 2006 in Arsenal's ticket prices is a WHOOPING 1.6%. Compare that with inflation, oil money clubs, player wages, transfer fees, etc in football today, compared to 2006.
Fact is, there was a promise from the board to reduce pressure on ticket prices when Arsenal managed to navigate out of the doldrums which building a stadium brought along. The club froze prices for the last 2 or 3 seasons. You can't possibly economically suddenly decide to sell tickets for 20% of the price. Things could be better, but they are hardly worthy of all the stick and propaganda that 'leading newspapers' have been spewing.

Some further reading, with facts from a season ticket holder, who oviously isn't a part of this 'Arsenal are run by cruel, money hoarding, businessmen' tirade:

___________
Now, if we navigate back to the discussion on the money from the TV deal, I guess it could be spent for some things - how about coaching refrees to have better fitness and not being blind for starters?

Yeah well, it's something which Arsenal gets a lot of unjustified stick for, here and outside..
That said, I am not against ticket price regulation..

It's not really unjustified, I don't care what the reasons are you cannot justify those prices.

I didn't say the prices were completely justified, I said the stick Arsenal gets is disproportional, and hence unjustified

It's not because Arsenal's prices are much higher than anyone elses despite the fact the entire league are too high as it is.
