We just had elections and a right-wing party won again. They're idiots who buy voters by giving out money they can't afford to give out. Because of that, the least educated and poorest people all support them.

The right-wing party, 'Law and Justice', didn't win majority in the following groups: 500k+ cities, business owners, directors and citizens with higher education.

So basically mostly idiots vote right-wing. Sad.

Guess which part was governed by the Germans and which by the Russians? Only Warsaw in the east is majority leftwing/central. The rest in the east are poor people mostly with basic education who barely leave their village and this is who dictates who rules and who doesn't....

If Liberals and Leftists want to win more elections, maybe they should think of others talking points than whoever votes right is "uneducated", "uninformed", "racist", "russian bot" etc.

You'd think they'd have taken the lesson in the past few years, but no.

Fact is, Poland is a very socially conservative society for the most part and has strong foreign-skeptic outlook due to its history and having been invaded by the Ottomans, Germans and then the Soviets. Also, the real wages and economy have improved over the last 4 years and they've pretty much finally secured visa-free travel to USA for Poles, and actually lots of Poles from abroad are coming back home due to improving conditions and developments. Is it a real surprise that they won again? It was so obvious.

Turn out was historic in Polish history yet PiS won in a landslide again. And Konfrencja will be entering the parliament too for the first time. I remember their leader being such a controversial MEP.

Wroclaw streets are being cleaned out of election posters and billboards now.

The economy has been steadily improving for years now, this is not PiS' doing. They're just lucky to be elected during a time of economic prosperity in general.

In current conditions, they should be cutting gvmt spending because the economy is fueling itself. Instead they're not doing much to cut the public debt, quite the contrary, they're giving out social benefits like its candy and going down Greece's path (through wasteful and excessive expenditure).

They're doing absolutely NOTHING in terms of enviornmental issues- they're actually investing more in coal and even debated on opening even more coal mines in times where we should free ourselves from coal and stop being dependent on it.

Raised taxes for middle class and business owners.

Allowed politicans to interfere in criminal proceedings.

They're completely against separation of the church from the state. Against gay marriage etc.

Other examples:
- ruled that evidence gathered in violation of the law can be used in court - which is against the constitution
- introducted many other acts which make them untouchable and nobody is looking at their hands.
- pressuring and harrasing judges, electing judges from their own circle, politically controlled prosecutor's office

Higher education: 29% voted PiS

I don't think it's about people being stupid (I find this correlation rather offensive) rather the leftists not making an effort to familiarize the people regarding issues (environment) that matters.

Well, the second most popular party is not leftist, more like central. In theory, they have a healthy mix of left and right people. But in reality, their leader happens to be an idiot and they always shoot themselves in the foot.

The other issue is, national channels are all biased towards PiS. They own the national TV which should be neutral but very clearly isn't. Propaganda is at work, always.

Most people don't understand even basic concepts of economy so they have no idea what they're voting for or against. They just see what's in front of them and live in the moment.

Schools should teach children more about economy and how to vote because that's also a skill that you need to acquire.

sometimes the most importent things are what you see infront of you. right in front of me i see a health care that is on its knees. i see a major shortage of housing i see local people having to look for schools miles away because the local schools are over crowded. i see lower end jobs that are full of EU workers that means our school leavers are finding it harder and harder to get them jobs. i see all of that with a 5 minute walk from my front door this is why i want brexit and a stop to feedom of movment. some people that lean to the right would say my concerns are very real and need addressing people on the left would call me a racist xenophobe.

It would be quite the bubble burst for you to realize that the UK's government for years would be considered leftist in most of the world. Most of europe leans left relative to most of the rest of the world.

Exactly, and it has nothing to do with left and right. It's the cancer of politics, it's populism. Left or right populism, it's irrelevant. It's the same trap of free handouts for temporary comfort with nothing to back it up. Worsening the economy and the institutions of a country until it can't sustain it any longer and the dam breaks.

I agree with the other its populism that defines elections. Left or Right, the manifesto of each party is always favoring the poor because that's where the vote lies.

People don't read any of that and base their assumption on other things.

Yep. Exit polls have Trzaskowski at 30.4% of votes, before election day he was polling at 28% max so this is a success!!

Trzaskowski 44,7%, very slim difference

There will be another 1v1 debate so I expect Trzask to destroy Duda there because he's much more eloquent and intelligent. We can do it

Thanks guys again, the results were better than I dared to expect.

However, it will be tough. The overwhelming majority voting for Duda are from small towns, villages and without higher education and also old people. He's got a really dumb but staunch electorate very much like Trump.
