Man City v Arsenal, Sunday 18th January 4pm, Etihad Stadium, Premier League, Sky Sports 1
Pellegrini & Wenger are set to clash again with all eyes on the Etihad
Premier League

2. Man City 47pts
3. Southampton 42pts
4. Man Utd 40pts
---------------
5. Spurs 37pts
6. Arsenal 36pts
Gunners head to 'bogey city' Manchester aiming to turn fortunes around
24 October 2010. The last time Arsenal won in Manchester. That day, Nicklas Bendtner and Alex Song were on the score-sheet, Sebastian Squillaci and Marouane Chamakh were in the first eleven and Manchester City still had Patrick Vieira in their ranks. Yes, it has been that long since Arsène Wenger managed to secure three points up the M40.
Since then, there have been 8-2 and 6-3 defeats as well as a plethora of players swapping London for the north-west; Robin van Persie, Samir Nasri, Emmanuel Adebayor et al.
"We are going through a period where confidence is important," Wenger told the press on Friday. "Let’s focus on going there and giving ourselves a chance to win by putting a great performance in."
Match facts
* Alexis Sanchez has been involved in more goals (19 – 12 goals and seven assists) than any other player in the Premier League this season.
* There have been six red cards in the last nine Premier League matches between these two sides.
* Arsenal are the only team to score three goals at the Etihad in a Premier League game during Manuel Pellegrini’s reign – but this was in a 3-6 defeat.
* Only Chelsea (11) have won more Premier League games away at Manchester City than Arsenal (10).
* Manchester City are unbeaten in their last 12 Premier League matches (W9 D3 L0).
* Manchester City have conceded at least two goals in each of their last two Premier League home games. They haven’t shipped two or more goals in three consecutive home Premier League games since October 2002.
Team news
Arsenal
Gibbs (heel) & Chambers (ill) are set to return, but Debuchy (shoulder), Wilshere (fitness), Arteta (ankle), Welbeck (thigh) & Diaby (calf) are all out.
Man City
Nasri (calf), Toure & Bony (both international duty) are all out.
Arsenal subs: Szczesny, Bellerin, Monreal, Flamini, Rosicky, Ozil, Walcott
Man City subs: Caballero, Demichelis, Kolarov, Sagna, Lampard, Navas, Dzeko

Great Work Sam.
I hope Wenger has learned for his mistakes and Finally shows up in a big game.
The line up looks good, I think if we go with right attitude we can walk away with a point.

Great preview Sam.
No feelings for this game. I want to feel optimistic but our record at Etihad, our record against the big clubs and our inconsistent performances all points to one result.
I guess the positives we can take into tomorrow's game is the return of our key players. They might be rusty but they do provide some sort of confidence. City losing Yaya means we might not get bullied as much in midfield. At least Ramsey is back for us.
We have to test Mangala. He has been shaky and we need to exploit that. Not to mention if Burnley and Sunderland can score 4 against them then surely we can score at least 1.
Would start Coquelin for sure. And would start Bellerin too instead of Chambers.

We all know Wenger will start Chambers so he can get experience in big games.

Re: Man City v Arsenal Preview & Live
This shit record of ours against the big teams is absolutely tragic. And many gooners would be forgiven if they don't have much faith heading into this one.
I sincerely hope Wenger comes up with something because we can't go on forever not beating top sides. It's just sad.
Hoping for a close tight match, because City will take us apart again in an open game.
COME ON ARSENAL!

No way this match will be a close tight match. 5-3 or 6-3 written all over it.

Here's hoping for a tight match with a great defensive performance from our side. Who knows, maybe we'll nick it?

Re: Man City v Arsenal Preview & Live
It's a good time to play City, no Yaya and they've been meh lately, draws against Burnley and Everton and an unconvincing win over Sunderland in between there. I'm hoping you lose, but there's no reason why you couldn't win this one.

There is always a reason. Jaded, poor decisions, injuries, unlucky, etc etc - you only have to wait for the post match conference to find out

As long as all the goals are scored by Aguero, Silva and Sanchez it's all good

For my fantasy sake, I need Chambers to score and Silva to score as well.
Hopefully Sanchez does nothing but I've probably jinx it now.

Don't want to tempt fate, because it will only lead to heartbreak and nausea. But I have a strangely not-awful feeling about today's match. Fingers crossed.
