Arsenal v Man Utd Preview & Live
Arsenal v Manchester United, Saturday 22nd November 5.30pm, Emirates Stadium, Premier League
Alexis and Welback have proven to be crucial to Arsenal's attack
Premier League
1. Chelsea 29pts
2. Southampton 25pts
3. Man City 21pts
4. West Ham 18pts
---------------
5. Swansea 18pts
6. Arsenal 17pts
7. Man Utd 16pts
Arsenal and Manchester United face each other with both sides outside of the top four for the first time since 1998 this weekend. "That won't last long," said a defiant Arsène Wenger at Friday's press conference. The Frenchman is convinced that the quality both teams possess will be reflected in the Premier League table come May. As Chelsea run away with the title, Wenger and Louis van Gaal's side's could be 15 and 16 points behind the leaders respectively come kick-off at the Emirates.
Gone are the days of Patrick Vieira v Roy Keane, Wenger v Sir Alex Ferguson and tunnel fights at Highbury. The reality is, nowadays, the meetings are more an indicator of who will end up in a Champions League position rather than who will be parading the Premier League trophy on the streets of Manchester or London.
Match Facts
* Arsenal have dropped more points than any other team from winning positions in this season’s Premier League (9). They dropped only nine points from leading positions in the whole of 2013-14.
* Juan Mata has scored four goals and set up two more in five starts against Arsenal in all competitions.
* Wayne Rooney has scored the joint-most goals against Arsenal of any player in Premier League history (10 along with Robbie Fowler).
* Only Burnley (eight) have conceded more headed goals than Arsenal this season (6)
* Sánchez has scored 12 goals in his last 14 matches for Arsenal in all competitions.
* Arsenal have won just four Premier League matches this season and those have come against teams currently in the bottom seven of the table.
* Sánchez has scored the opening goal of the game more often than any other Premier League player this season (five times).
* Manchester United have lost just 1 of their last 14 matches against Arsenal in all competitions (W10 D3 L1).

Great work Sam.
Its nice to have EPL back, cant stand the international games.
Not sure if we are ready for such big game after the break. I cant see Wenger making much any changes from last game, we will see chambers start at RB and Monreal as CB.
An Arsenal win tomorrow will be a huge confidence boost, but as usual wrong team and formation and it will be another dreadful game.

A win against our bogey team would be huge. It has been far, far too long since we have been impressive against Man Utd. That defence is even worse than ours, so there is hope.

United offence looks so scary and we are just the team who would give them a night to remember.
Is it true Sanchez just returned to London?
Sanogo will start another big for Arsenal.

Re: Arsenal v Man Utd Preview & Live
Defensively they are nowhere near as bad as the names suggest, they haven't looked bad defensively since the collapse at Leicester.
It's the attack which isn't coming together, mainly due to players playing out of position.

Re: Arsenal v Man Utd Preview & Live
Massive game. Absolutely massive
Our recent form has been garbage and United might be doing poor but they still are a club of big stature. We have to beat them at all cost, specially being at home.
This game won't be easy obviously. They have class players in Di Maria, Rooney and RVP. Rooney loves playing against us. Mole is right about their defence as well. Can't say they are playing mcNair at the back so they will concede. We know that doesnt matter much.
International break means most players will be half arsed. Apart from the ones who didn't go. Let's see what we get from the team tomorrow.
Going for an Arsenal win. If we lose then Wenger will be in incredible pressure.

ok at least we can say they are as vulnerable on defensive transitions as we are
but we are going to control possession and leave space for them;(
we ourselves have way too many flaws [other than just excusing injuries] to win these type of games
Alexis/Oxlade/Jack need individuals to turn up for us to have any chance although Kos is big miss damn
cant take another defeat
pls god let it be our turn

Arsenal vs Manchester United
This is the one! The one that most of us fans want to see! The one in which we want to see us beat them! The one that has given us so many drama, excitement, sad moments, in short - a lot of memories! This is the one!
Just for one night, Wenger, mate, pls get it right. And fire up the damn team FFS!!!!!!! Let's play in a way in which we haven't for a long, long time. 100% commitment and 100% passion.
Fck your tactical inadequencies, Fck defensive concentration lapses, Fck LvG, Fck Rooney, Fck RvP. This is us, and this will be to us beating them!
COME ONNNNNN YOUUUUU GUNNERS

Meant position I suppose that still applies to Wenger though
That's what I get for posting when very tired and watching Basketball

Re: Arsenal v Man Utd Preview & Live
1 win in 14 games against Man Utd.
That is an embarrassing record for a midtable club let alone a top 4 one and it was funny to hear Wenger trying to justify it in the press conference. A win is the only acceptable result, anything else and Wenger should be in trouble and in a lot of pressure.
Believe that will be our team, expecting another big game performance from Jack/Alexis as usual and hopefully Danny gets a goal just to rub it in van Gaal's face.

So Monreal is still playing centre half, the likes of Rooney will exploit this

Calm down. You'll win this.
Everytime I watch Utd, they lose. I have to leave at half time though, so make sure it's done and dusted by then.

Re: Arsenal v Man Utd Preview & Live
My Thoughts, Di Maria will abuse Chambers and Mertz on the Right. While Mata, Rooney and rvp make Artetta look as old and slow as he is. There will be no defensive cover from Wilshere. We will dominate possession while giving the best chances to score to manu.
Just do not have good thoughts about the game. Do not like the personnel options, the tactics or mentality. I will hope for a positive outcome just think that Big changes are needed at AFC.
