El Shaarawy wrote:Arquitescu wrote:Deserved. 100% fully deserved. The Ballon D'OR on this forum is much too scrutinized and discussed to a point of encircling. Yet I am happy that Cristiano once again has clinched the title in amongst the herd of moaning sheep wanting Neuer to win for 'revolutionizing' a position in sweeping beyond just keeping despite Gigi Buffon setting the precursor for that post 2002. Or the inordinate amounts of Messi hopefuls who will find all reasons from Budapest to Bamako on why the dour Argentine should have won over his Portuguese counterpart.
Ronaldo went against all odds by the grace of perseverance and work ethic in storming Europe in a ballad of consistency and drive to which has never been seen before. Broken have been the membrane in which separated the comparison of him at Manchester United and Real Madrid as surpassed has been the doubts that enshrouded that he cannot surmount Messi to the top.
Yes, his incredibly absurd mate cry followed by the obvious embarrassment of that abstract noise will rather unnecessary in a room full of ramrod straight sapiens thinking of how they can look as buffered as bronze as Cristiano is routinely done during these ceremonies.
Yet completing a back to back award for being the best player of 2014 and completing the ever delectable trio is worthy of Cristiano Ronaldo doing his best attempts in summoning the Cthulu as inevitably his detractors will use this rush of blood noise to detract from the fact that he is champion of the world.
Congratulations Cristiano. You deserve nothing less.
Where the hell have you been? You didn't join us at the semi-meltdown last week ffs
Might be a full meltdown if we don't manage to win again today
Oh God we have a match today? Should be given time to cool of our heads ffs

If guess Neuer has a legitimate reason to feel angry as he was 0.04% away from 2nd place

Totally understandable from the German media but sour grapes is the main course. Still, something about typical Germans...
Lewa my darling, have no regrets. You voted with your heart and soul.

That's not the end of it, now his agent is claiming he didn't say that stuff to kicker and he has no regrets anyway.
At which point I forcefully have to say, who gives an actual *bleep*

Not quite true, journalists vote doesn't count anymore.
In fact it was better than they did.

Sure it does, it counts for 1/3 of the vote. I agree it's a farce though, it would have been better if they never merged the awards.Great Leader Sprucenuce wrote:Not quite true, journalists vote doesn't count anymore.

I was led to believe that's what's changed from the old system where Sneijder and Ribery would of won it?

In the old system for the BdO only the press vote counted and for the PotY the captain vote counted for half and the coach vote counted for half.
In thew new system for the FIFA BdO the press vote is 1/3, the captain vote is 1/3 and the coach is 1/3 too. So effectively the new award is 1/3 Old BdO and 2/3 PotY

When asked exactly about that by a reporter, Manu Neuer just grinned and replied. "I don't mind, I'm a team player - and my team are the World Champions." (paraphrased)BarrileteCosmico wrote:If guess Neuer has a legitimate reason to feel angry as he was 0.04% away from 2nd place

Liverpool and Milan have always been my only two clubs. Local clubs are Brescia and La Real. Support any Basque team yet show more for Athletic considering they fly the Euskadi flag how its supposed to be.
Probably typed this information a 1000 times on this forum
