Re: Klopp sack watch - Liverpool Edition
DI Marzio was saying that City had already reached out to Carlo, and they were waiting for his decision. They will obviously make an offer to Klopp.

You called Pep 'Spanish' in a conversation with free_cat, where I think cat doesn't stand for the animal.
You're in real trouble now viva.

the whole live coverage article is incredible lol. Can't understand a word German, doesn't know who Zorc or Watzke are, but does a live coverage article for the Telegraph with multiple entries.

Klopp
What a manager he's been, incredible what he's done with Dortmund since '08.
Wish him all the best at his next club, though I hope the links to Liverpool stay what they are now - links.

Nope Nicko
The earliest time I remember, was when Jibers and I were discussing whether Sacchi's Milan played that style.
It may have been used before on the forum, but that's the earliest I can remember tbh.
Nope Nicko.
VivaStPauli wrote:BTW Tuchel is the obvious replacement if they want to keep a similar style, right?
Tuchel and Klopp are pretty different IMO. Tuchel's main appeal is his tactical flexibility. His teams switch formation depending on the opposition's positional superiority during the game.
He's definitely a proactive coach, but if Dortmund want a like-for-like switch they should hire Schmidt. However, we all know that isn't possible atm.

Re: Klopp sack watch - Liverpool Edition
But doesn't Tuchel reactivity comes from the squad that he has? i mean it's all fine when you have weaker talent and you want to reduce the gap with better with tactics, but when you have superior talent, that's when you should actively seek to take the initiative no?

Re: Klopp sack watch - Liverpool Edition
Let's just wait and see what Tuchel does at his next club.
His Mainz work was promising but that's all there is, and he's something like 24 years old.

I'd guess the same was said about Klopp tbf, his ideas would lead me to believe he'll be a success IMO.

Re: Klopp sack watch - Liverpool Edition
I don't think Dortmund need a 'similar' manager and the only thing Klopp and Tuchel have in common is shouting a lot from the sidelines.
I would like to see something new completely new however, Frank de Boer maybe or Sascha Lewandowski.

I always find it funny when people want FdB as their coach because of his 'success' with Ajax.

Ideally he wants his team to press aggressively and attack quickly, but at Mainz he regularly switched up his team depending on the opposition. He would bench some of his better players, depending on the opposition. He would plan out different systems that Mainz would use during a game to combat the opposition's movement.
He's a great strategist, but I do wonder how he would work with a better team. Would star players accept the many different roles that come with different systems? Would they accept being benched against better teams, because they wouldn't be a strength tactically?
If he's hired by Dortmund, and they still keep their star players it will definitely be interesting to see what he does.
