Re: Liverpool v Swansea
Playing well when we can't create anything special. I don't consider having possession playing well.
It took a set piece and a lucky cross to score our goals.
Anyways, if you mean we were playing better than we have done in the past month or so then definitely.

Coutinho MOTM, but where Borini haters?
Balotelli looks so much better having another competent striker next to him. Just hope he gets consistent game time until Daniel is available.

I liked Lucas in this game, had few good passes also. Hendo looked very conservative in the first half for my taste. We were very lucky...i think it is becoming sort of a trend that Teams are parking at Anfield and we just suck at opening them

Yeah Fabio did very well this game. He's not ideal but I'd start him for Newcastle.

Re: Liverpool v Swansea
I think that Borini will get better with confidence. He's not our #1, but I think if he gets into a good run of form he can be an adequate replacement for Sturridge until he's fit. I would run Balotelli-Borini until we lose again to be honest.
Against games where we need an intelligent, economical and responsible approach in midfield I would say start:
With Coutinho coming on as a late game difference maker if we are drawing or behind.
If we're going to be the team trying to dictate the pace of the match and attacking:

Re: Liverpool v Swansea
I'd still get rid of him faster than I can blink next summer. Once Origi comes in and hopefully we sign 1 more forward, his services will be rendered useless.
That's Sturridge, Balotelli, Origi, New Guy, Lambert he'll be behind.

Re: Liverpool v Swansea
the difference when we have someone running those channels, playing on the shoulder all the time . Someone harassing the defenders

Re: Liverpool v Swansea
There's no thread yet for the game so I'll post this here:
I like the sound of it. He also complimented Lucas for his performance. Johnson had a great game as well. Makes for a bit of a selection headache I would think. Given the circumstances I hope this is what we see:
I don't think it will be far off from that.
Although it might be prudent to use Lucas, Lallana and perhaps Johnson since we still have Madrid then Chelsea to look forward to.
Perhaps:
Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers on his options up front ahead of the match against Newcastle: "With Daniel Sturridge out, it's a miss but it gives opportunities to others. Fabio Borini was outstanding the other night."
