4-3-3 pls.
Hope Rio gets a great reception at Old Trafford. Blackett says Rio texts him after every game giving him tips and they also have training sessions together. That's very nice of him.

yes a 4-3-3 it should be ideally. But I think its gonna be 3-5-2 again. Van Gaal aint finished with that yet.
Hoping we wont have to see the faces of junks finally in this match. If Shaw aint fit, Rojo as the LWB Blackett as the LCB, and not some crap that goes by the name of Ashley Young instead.

LvG said he simply can't switch to 4-3-3 it needs to be trained first. I'm just hoping the international break gives him that chance. Bayern Munich had similar results to us and he changed the formation, I don't know how the performances were though, but ours haven't been great either.

Re: Old Trafford 14/9/2014 Manchester United - Queens Park Rangers EPL
as a matter of fact till now we havent seen an incisive/potent 3-5-2 formation from us owing to lack of first team options. For a 3-5-2 to work it need the wide wing backs to be excellent going forward especially . The extra body in the defense can only be compensated if the 2 WBs provide the overlap. Otherwise attack wise its a pretty limited formation. So the main reason 3-5-2 is not working for us is cos of the utter crap players we have used as the wing backs, valencia and young who are neither good offensively nor defensively. or Offensively they are below average and defensively they are pi$$ poor. Its these wing backs that largely define the success of this formation. So when Shaw and Rafael are back then perhaps things wont be as bad as this. Also using wingers as wing backs means we wont be able to make the transition from 3-5-2 to 5-3-2 at the time of requirement. Hence may be we should hold back a little bit before rendering this setup as unsuited. Now that we have Rojo and Blind (assuming Shaw is unavailable) who both can play as LB/ and LWB (hopefully) we certainly wont be seeing Young I suppose in the next match. And Rafael should also be available meaning no Valencia as well. So the 3-5-2 in the next match should be a lot different from the 3-5-2 until now. Things should improve.

Re: Old Trafford 14/9/2014 Manchester United - Queens Park Rangers EPL
The thing is when we play with wing-backs. It creates 2vs1 situations and it makes it really hard for Rafael or Shaw or whoever to attack. Even when we've used Januzaj as a RWB he struggles, he'll go past the first guy then either gets fouled or tackled by the second guy.
Or, what Burnley did is because they only have to defend our wing backs, and not full backs and wingers. They'd defend our wingbacks using their wingers, which freed their fullbacks so they made their defence very narrow, so their fullbacks were in the box and it stuffed the middle. It was like their full backs were CBs and their wingers were fullbacks so it was a back 6. Which makes parked buses even harder for us to break since we can't use the wings properly, the teams just play very narrow.
However, I do think we'd do better with Rafael/Shaw, they can play good 1-2s and generally have good link-up play. But, we might have problems in tougher games.

We already have a thread for all our matchdays, it's better we keep it all in there. No offence, Vlad.
In saying that, I can not wait for to see our new look team.

No problem mate.
But imagine what if this thread wouldn't exist, you wouldn't have seen those posts above; 5 days until the game and the boys here were mobilized to write simply because they saw the topic.
In my opinion it's good to create this kind of threads and still post in the special thread for EPL & FA Cup discussions.
