He is playing today with the under-21s, for one half at least. I believe that he needs to play two or three games before thinking about coming back into the first team. We can organise games internally without being official games and I think in the next three weeks he should be available. He has not played for 10 months so we need to be patient with him. He has good basic fitness but after it is competitive decision-making and he needs to get used to that again. We are a bit relieved because with such an injury, you never know how a player will come back. But he looks promising in training.

Give someone a raise for being constantly injured and not performing up to what the club needs to win.

Yea that is a good use of the resources that we seem to not have the ability to reinvest. Until he ever proved that he could stay healthy and contribute he should just be thrown on the everg growing pile of dead wood the club keeps around.

A contract extension doesn't always mean a raise and he's been good when fit. He's suffered multiple long-term injuries here, he's barely gotten a consistent run of games so I'm not sure how you can be so harsh on the guy, especially with how he was playing when he came back last season.
