Natalie Portman wrote:Man U have actually zero transfer strategy. Just panic station throwing money around at any star name available. Out-doing Perez ffs .....Putting all their eggs in one basket, while Johnny Evans is their leader at CB
love the fact that Mole/RED still think we "Fear" them. You'd think they've learnt by now
LOL! No strategy? Mate, we are having to do 2...yes TWO summer transfers in one Summer after that fail of last year, do you remember our only last minute deadline day purchase of Fellani? the only signing we made
We've already brought a CB/LB in Rojo, brought in Shaw, brought a versatile DM in Blind and bought in Herrera...plus Di Maria who can play in the middle.
Plus, who's to say we're done yet. We're obviously still in the hunt for more players.
So all this talk of "panic" buying is nonsense. We're spending money a juggernaught like United should for once. We should be up there buying players of the ilk that Barca/Madrid and Bayern buy. Not "value in the market" players we've seen come in that SAF managed to make look decent. What has that got us? We're having to get rid of them right now.
What we're doing is long overdue. It's about time the Glazers spend the money they rob off us.
Now let me taste the salt from them tears

Re: Radamel Falcao close to Chelsea move
Monaco covering part of the wages?
why?
here, take our star player, he can play for you, don't worry we'll pay part of his wages.

Re: Radamel Falcao close to Chelsea move
Well Di Marzio, L'Equipe and now Nice Matin are saying that it's 12 mil pound loan fee, no wages covered and 55 mil buyout option...

I doubt it.There will almost always be a hint of BSing from these English media reports even if its from the most reliable of sources.I bet the next thing they're going to write is Monaco paying Man U to take Moutinho off them
What Di Marzio says sounds more reasonable to me imo.

How will the wages work as there is no tax in Monaco. Will united have to pay the full amount + tax? If so that's insane, he's on stupid money.

Re: Radamel Falcao close to Chelsea move
Moutinho's wages aren't that high... 4 mil euros. It's gross, but net to the player since there are no taxes in Monaco.

Re: Radamel Falcao close to Chelsea move
Maybe Falcao gave them a discount.... but Monaco is definitely not paying any of it. Falcao actually preferred to go to Juve. The 12 mil loan fee was fine; but Monaco refused to cover any of the wages and Juve were only willing to go up to 7 mil net (50% pay cut). City and Valencia were in there too... Man U just outbid them all with 12 mil pound fee, covering all the wages and 55 mil buyout option.
If the wage was not discounted, it's 14 mil net of taxes. So 22 mil euros gross roughly in the UK.
In retrospect, i wish he had gone to Juve. At least it would make sense with CL.

Imo this explains it :
Marotta wrote:“Will Falcao come to Juve? I don’t think so. He was linked with Juventus because he appreciates us and that makes us proud, but if he does leave Monaco it’ll be for tens of millions and he’ll join a different top European club.”

Re: Radamel Falcao close to Chelsea move
I just go by what Nice Matin says... nothing else. They noted that Madrid was the #1 choice and then Juve came in but the offer was too low. City, Valencia and Man U all arrived late last week to the party. City couldn't do it due to FFP, Valencia couldn't afford the wage and Man U won by default since they could offer the needed financial package.
Falcao would have preferred to go to a CL team and Juve (due to tradition) followed by City were the options. I think Valencia was more a favor to Mendes to drive up the price lol.
In the end, Man U wrote the biggest check.

Re: Radamel Falcao close to Chelsea move
we all know Falcao begged madrid to sign him and we said no. oh well
So to clarify, the loan is with an option to buy or an obligation to buy?

Different reports... none of them from the best. One says no obligation and the other says auto-trigger as long as he doesn't injure the same knee...Mr Nick09 wrote:we all know Falcao begged madrid to sign him and we said no. oh well

You actually believe that crap? It's clear as day what Di Marzio is reporting is the actual truth.

Re: Radamel Falcao close to Chelsea move
It's not just one man though (and Di Marzio is the top footy reporter for Sky Italia and very close to Monaco tbh). It's all the french media reporting the same.
After the Bale transaction where BBC, Sky, etc. said that we paid 130 mil ... i stopped believing completely. BBC gets the transactions absolutely right. But the numbers are... well... dramatized to favor their agenda.

So, Di Marzio is a top reporter for Sky Italia and, yet, Sky Sport opted not to report the figure that Marzio claimed to be.
Sounds to me that his own employer does not trust his report.
