Morata: 'Madrid can't buy happiness'
By Football Italia staff
Alvaro Morata warned Real Madrid might have a buy-out clause from Juventus, “but happiness counts more than clauses.”
The striker joined last year in a complex deal that saw Juve pay €20m, but the Merengues have an option to buy him back in 2016 or 2017 for around €30m.
“It’s true that the paperwork says I could return to Madrid, but some things go beyond clauses and have to deal with how people actually feel,” Morata told Radio Marca in Spain.
“Happiness counts more than clauses.”
Juventus reached the Champions League Final last season, losing 3-1 to Barcelona, and the showdown this term is in Milan.
“If we reach the Final and win the Champions League at San Siro, I will walk back to Turin on foot!”

DOnt worry you will probably keep him, he is not good enough for us to sign him back, and he wont accept the bench

Re: Morata is finished
Seriously, what traditional striker (not winger/midfielder types that rely on pace) do Real Madrid have that is superior to Morata considering his age and thus his potential?

Re: Morata is finished
It's just Nick that has that opinion! He doesn't seem to want any canteras on the team.
I think Morata would go back to a backup role at Madrid in a heartbeat. But Morata opening missing sitters yesterday plus several recent benchings looks like he is considered a backup now at Juve.
Question - Madrid did have a buyback option. Does that change in any way now that he has renewed?

Nope, not just Nick. I too think Morata is not good enough for Real Madrid.

Buyback option still remains according to Surag's post

Benzema doesn't count for some reason?

Re: Morata is finished
I think he meant what striker available on the market and superior to Morata can Real Madrid get if we were to part ways with Benzema.

Please use some common sense
He wouldn't have extended his contract with Juventus if he wanted to 'run' back to Madrid to play a backup role

I want canteras in the team, im not obsessed and unrealistic about it though, you are.futbol_bill wrote:It's just Nick that has that opinion! He doesn't seem to want any canteras on the team.

Morata is talented, but he has yet to become a dependable leading striker for a good team. So far, despite what looked like the end of a positive season with juve, he is still struggling.
You think Morata is going to return play in Madrid and be second fiddle to someone like Benzema who is at the top of the game CF wise? lol, unless of course you are hoping for Benzema to be sold and Morata to be brought back to replace him? which will never happen in a million years.
Morata thinks very highly of himself (maybe too much at times), he did not accept being back up when he was here, he acted as if he deserved to play more, and he is speaking more foul language about returning to RM.

Benzema? I think he is destined for prison and if not his psychological condition during the long trial process will not help his game.

So we have a buy back clause for 2016 and 2017?

Totally makes sense actually. 32mil is a steal for a striker like him - not based on his current performances obviously, but we all could see what he is capable of last year

But Morata can easily reject a return though..
Final say is down to him.

Re: Morata is finished
To be honest, I have huge doubts about this criteria. I know that Marotta told us something like this, but sounds really weird for Madrid to take such a huge risk on the player's mood.
Not as stupid as buying a great talent with a buy back clause though

Re: Morata is finished
We can use a back up striker for sure. Looking at his situation currently there won't be much problem convincing him to come back.

Re: Morata is finished
Would be a stupid move if he decides to go back.
He can become a permanent starting CF at Juventus pretty shortly.I am still confident he'll make a good decision for his career in the end.
