Also on the Van Buyten rumour, kill me now.
We all know the reasons behind the interest for DvB, and that is first and foremost for the fact that he happens to be an emergency striker; unearthing B&G's unnatural fetish for that position.
Quite frankly he's a better striker than a CB.

Barcelona want €25m for Sanchez, however Juventus don't want to pay more than €15m and bonuses, according to Tuttosport.

Re: 2014 Summer Transfer Rumours Mk. III
Inter Milan president Erik Thohir has revealed that Erik Lamela and Luiz Gustavo are on the club's radar, with a new signing expected to be announced in the next couple of weeks.
Nemanja Vidic has already agreed a deal to join Inter and they are now thought to be looking to bolster their midfield and attacking options.
Tottenham Hotspur winger Lamela has been heavily linked with a return to Serie A following a difficult first season at White Hart Lane, and he is said to be on the wish list of Inter boss Walter Mazzarri.
Mazzarri is also a fan of Wolfsburg midfielder Gustavo, according to Thohir, who is planning to discuss a new deal with the head coach soon.
"Mazzarri likes Lamela and Luiz Gustavo, but everything will depend on the situation of the market," Thohir told Gazzetta dello Sport.
"In about two weeks we hope to be able announce a new player.
"Mazzarri believes in our plan and we must sit around a table to talk about his renewal.
"I want the coach to work mostly with young players, the (average) age of players must be around 26 and a half years old. Football now is different to 15 years ago."
Napoli midfielder Valon Behrami is another player to have been linked with Inter Milan, and he has not ruled out a switch.
The Switzerland international played under Mazzarri during his time in charge at Napoli and he could see the advantages in joining Inter.
He is quoted as telling Blick.ch: "Me to Inter? I could remain living in my new home in Gentilino (Switzerland) because the training centre of Inter is just over the border and I could arrive in only 30 minutes."

Re: 2014 Summer Transfer Rumours Mk. III
We need to pay up for Alexis ASAP
3-5-2 isn't going to do jack shit in Europe where all the best teams can double up on your wing back and create a 2v1
Then a CB has to come out and we get exploited even more.
Need a quality player like Sanchez.

Lord Spencer wrote:McLewis wrote:I'm officially ok with selling Benatia tbh. His comments were disgraceful towards Roma.
It's fine to have ambition, but you don't disrespect your club like that after they trusted you with leadership and the armband.
If he goes, it needs to be 40m+, the 30m price that I've been seeing is too low.
If he stays, he should never wear the armband again, but even that won't probably be enough to squash the chemistry problems this creates within the squad, something that was so pivotal to their success this season.
What were his comments?
“I am happy in Rome. There remain four years on my contract.
“I have spoken with the directors about an extension, which I am uncertain will go through, as we are not entirely in agreement.
“I feel good here with the Coach and with the players…
“Then, I am 27-years-old and I have reached an age where big offers from great clubs causes you to think…clubs like Barca, City, Bayern.
“These are clubs who any player on the planet would dream of.
“I am currently with the Moroccan national team and my agent is responsible for meeting with clubs.
“I believe that very soon we will know more.”
Essentially, he wants to be paid like Sergio Ramos without actually winning anything like Sergio Ramos.
On the surface, it doesn't sound so bad....in truth, this is quite damaging. He's basically admitted that he doesn't see Roma as a place he can stay and win things and that he still sees a need to go to "bigger" clubs to do that. He's admitted that he does not believe in Roma's project, in the vision of the management and that he does not have faith in his teammates to actually win silverware. If Pjanic or Strootman had said the same thing, the response would be no different honestly. Pjanic showed a lot of character by being tempted exactly the way Benatia's been tempted, but chose to stay and help build something here instead of being "bought" into success elsewhere.
This would be par for the course and utterly innocuous in every other average season we've had, but not this one. Not when Roma has had it's best season in its history.

Tom Ince project :
starter in Europe League group stage
5-6 goals
Allardyce (or another EPL scrub manager) set his sights on him
Libor Kozak-esque deal (took to 0, so capital gain) in Premier League

Are Inter actually convinced by Ince, or is it simply to do with the link with his father?

kicker cites the Gazzetta dello Sport as saying the transfer of Immobile to Dortmund is getting close to being completed.
Apparently BVB, Juve, and FC Torino are now only dealing with the transfer sum, with BVB having given an increased bid recently.

Ramos yes.
Lewnadowski's are big shoes to fill though, and they want more quality in depth too. Schieber will then leave I guess.

Re: 2014 Summer Transfer Rumours Mk. III
Bacary Sagna has told French television that he has no deal with Manchester City, but that he will make a decision on his future before the World Cup.
The Arsenal defender is approaching the end of his contract at Emirates Stadium and has been unable to agree an extension.
That means he will soon be dropping into the free-agent pool and be in a position to make a call on what his next career move will be.
It has been reported for some time that Premier League champions City are leading the chase for his signature.
Speculation has suggested that an agreement has already been reached, with Sagna ready to put pen to paper.
The 31-year-old has refuted those rumours by insisting that no switch has been put in place, but he has revealed that he will not allow the issue of his future to drag on into the summer.
Sagna told Telefoot: "Have I already signed a contract with Manchester City? No, that is not true.
"My situation will be sorted out before the World Cup, but I haven't signed for anyone so far.
"We all have our own destiny and I will try to find mine."

Re: 2014 Summer Transfer Rumours Mk. III
Barcelona have a €50-60m budget this season, however it won't be enough and they want 6 new signings, so they're willing to sell Alves, Fabregas and Sanchez who will get them €80m according to Sport.
They want a GK, 2 CB's, a RB, a midfielder and a striker and they are interested in Marquinhos, Koke and Llorente.

Re: 2014 Summer Transfer Rumours Mk. III
they surely need more quality and Ramos imo is good but whether or not he will step up from HB's expectations to Dortmund's will be doubtful although he does have impressive figures with them. So a quality competition is needed to keep their performance level upHapless_Hans wrote:iftikhar wrote:Do they need him!!!
