As per usual in a big match, Kaka was our finest player. His ingenious effort to collect the long pass, take on 2-3 men and rattle the crossbar from 25 yards using deft guile was testament to his evolution as a player.

Yes, I was happy to see the 4-3-1-2 again and I think it's only the personnel that distinguish that formation from the 4-3-3 (false 9). If you put some wide players in Kaka & Balo's positions, you immediately have the wide threat that both sides lacked in the derby. We need to get SES & Taarabt up there and put Balo in the false 9 position to optimise it. Kaka is a beast if he gets some rest and in this game he showed that he is still a superb option in either the TQ or forward position. I think that when Milan eventually get back to playing European opposition, using the wide players in those forward positions will give us an edge that we lacked under Allegri against the best defences.

Also, very glad to see the Depolivo midfield.
