The Official "We Go Again" Thread- Everton, Lambert, and Stewart Carroll
Well. It was a blow, but not one proved to be fatal, as of yet. It probably isn't in our hands anymore, barring we go and absolutely destroy Palace and NUFC...but, it's not the end either. It's a funny old season, and WHO KNOWS, there may be just one last twist left. Guys, at least now we have no expectations, so anything from here on is a welcome surprise.
Everton
Aston Villa
West Ham.
I dedicate my avatar and signature to those teams, until they prove to be worthy of them, and if they bend backwards for City, they'll get removed.
ONE OF THEM. we just need ONE OF THESE bastards to be useful.
This week will be fecking LOOOOOOOOOOONG.....but this time next week, title may be back in our own hands again, with a chance to go top through beating Palace.
Ideal results for us:
- Arsenal doesn't beat Newcastle tomorrow, keep Everton more motivated (Unlikely)
- Both Spurs and Man U win on saturday to keep pressure on Everton in fear of losing 5th spot (Likely)
- Hull beat Villa at Villa Park, keeps Villa desperate in relegation battle before their visit to Etihad (Likely)
- Everton get some of their defenders back fit, and Martinez doesn't throw the game (So so, unlikely)
We never do it the easy way...see Istanbul, Dortmund, FA Cup 2006, League Cup 2012 etc....Let's keep the positive energy, even if it's just fooling ourselves.
Let's win our last 2 games in style and see where it ends us. 86 points, and we shall see whether it'll take us to the dream land or 2nd spot.
No excuses now.
COME ON EVERTON
COME ON VILLA
COME ON WEST HAM

Re: The Official "We Go Again" Thread- Everton, Lambert, and Stewart Carroll
All depends on Everton I think. They're the only real team that can take a scalp.
Then again, Villa have got some MASSIVE results against the bigger sides this season.
And West Ham have Carroll, which City struggle to defend against.
Massive 2 weeks ahead, it's definitely in their hands, and they have all the ability to go on to win it but it won't be easy.
We just have to make sure we get 6 points out of 6. No excuses.

I'm feeling Lambert can get something out of this, not Everton though, but they are playing at Goodison so we'll see.. I'll keep my fingers crossed.

I can't believe Everton are our best chance to help us win the title... Most of their fans would probably be willing to throw the game now that their hopes of a top-4 finish are all but gone.

Is Art trolling?
Both his boys (Lambert AND Carroll) have the chance to help us out here, and he's opted with Everton over both of them.

Obviously Lambert and Carroll are not only football geniouses, but also awesome characters in every way, but realistically speaking, I simply don't see how Villa and Ham could bother City at the Etihad. Even if they score, City are going to score more.
Everton, on the other hand, have picked up 11 more points from their home games than City from their away games, so there's our chance if Everton can be arsed to try their best.

If Everton win against City, I would bite off your arm for a draw against Palace if you gave it to me right now.
In fact, I would sacrifice those 2 points at Selhurst park as long as City lose. I don't care if Chelsea catch up. Let them. Rather fight it off on GD against them than City since we're +7 on them. It'll also be a very fun final matchday with all 3 teams all able to win it.
I would make a cross roads deal with a demon and offer those terms.
PLEASE EVERTON. PLEASE

Re: The Official "We Go Again" Thread- Everton, Lambert, and Stewart Carroll
Everton: They are the strongest of the lot and playing at home. I think they will give their best but if their decimated defense couldn't resist Southampton, City (with blood in their mind) should be shredding them to bits .
Villa: They should have ample motivation as they are on brink of relegation zone. It would be too much too ask a team who have gained ONE point away from home since February, to take points off a marauding City .
WHU: Fat Sam from 19th Century might have done the trick. But what motivation will they have against a team that have picked 46 out of 51 home points .
Then again, weirder stuff have happened this season.

History will repeat itself.
Mourinho doesn't lose against Liverpool in the PL, just like how City can't beat Everton away.
Calma.
