The board decided to sack him in February, they were just waiting for the clause to be activated. The Olympiacos first leg is the game that did it.

I'm reading more and more of this, and it does make sense. What made me worried was when we revealed that he was given a 6 year contract. The club didn't specify the intricate details of the contract....and that made me petrified that we were stuck with him regardless of how bad he did.

Pleased when on Monday it was revealed that there were clauses in his contract. It made sense. that 6 year, set in stone, contract was all PR.

Phew! half of the faith I have for our board members is restored. Now don't fck up the appointment and the summer transfer dealings.

And still, after that, SAF and SBC knowingly backed him in public. What SAF said in that old interview I posted in the Moyes thread awhile ago was true. When a manager is openly backed in public it means they're going to get sacked, otherwise you just don't comment on the speculation.

The wisdom SAF has is priceless

I would love, in the near future, to hear/read his thoughts on the Moyes debacle. I'm guessing we would have to wait until he releases another book to get his full honest opinions on the matter.

I'm sure he's feeling embarrassed and rather let down? What do you think?

I'll just shorten it.

Moyes tried his best, I don't think anyone faults him for trying. He just wasn't good enough in the end.

I think Moyes' comments about the squad painted Fergie in a bad light, like Fergie left him with nothing. Those comments also let people come up with suggestions that Fergie jumped shipped before it's too late. The man was loyal to Man Utd for 26 years, but somehow he just didn't want to create another squad to avoid tarnishing his record If SAF is not loyal to us, I have no idea what loyalty is in football. It does exist though, it's just very scarce. Then there's the 'Fergie would have struggled with this squad too'

Also, think Ryan Giggs had a word with him. Bryan Robson has also come out today and said it was right to get rid of Moyes and he's quite close to Fergie as we know.
