We make fun of HalaAtletico lightly for his undying support for Rojiblancos frequently...Yet we tend to omit that he is by far the most dedicated Real Madrileño from this forum.

Ilori saved Granada's ass from relegation. What a beast. Hopefully Rodgers starts him next season. Can't do any worse than 50 goal conceded tbh.

Speaking of which....
Rayo conceded 80 this season. Not sure if anyonein the top four leagues conceded more, but if they did, I'm 100 percent sure they got relegated. Rayo on the other hand has finished 12th, if they had Baptistao, they would probably finish something like 7th or 8th.
Not a single *bleep* given about defense.

Yohan Modric wrote:It's believable imo. Messi was poor against Atletico. He looked unmotivated and constantly lost the ball etc.
He lost the ball because he was motivated and taking players on. Messi was trying pretty damn near his hardest that game from what I can tell. Offensively, at least. Defensively he could have pressed more, but that's really a non-factor at this point because all the players could be pressing better, and the pressing game for Barca as a whole is completely broken.
The only thing offensively I could criticize him for was dropping too deep, which is because of the tight marking on him, and that has nothing to do with how hard he worked.
I wouldn't even say he was poor, but he was very tightly marked and it was hard for him to make an impact.
As for the article...seems legit

Not deserving. Pampalona is in tears tonight.
I thought the same. Osasuna always took points off Mehdrid and us.
Having said that - I certainly won't miss the travels to Pamplona.
Osasuna historically have taken many points from the likes of Real Madrid, Athletic, Barcelona, Atletico, Valencia, La Real yet their downfall is in the recent years losing matches that they could and should of won. El Sadar is a fortress yet their complacent away record has finally cost them.
pretty much this, they onpy have themselves to blame for this not luck or anything else
btw Osasuna relegated, Deportivo look like they are getting promoted so we didn't lose the annoying away teams unfortunately but at least it wasn't both of them in the same league lol

Why is modric there? He played centrally. Odd selection. Led Madrid to a mighty third...

I tried to include all the midfielders that deserved to be there. I could change it and put dimaria at rw, modric at cm and koke at lw which would represent it better but all those midfielders should be there.
we lost the league in 3 of our last 4 games, we had the easiest run on paper yet fluffed it by not seeming interested in winning the league. Modric was excellent and was one of the few who tried

i think i never understood the whoscored Rating...why Costa is so low. Or if I read correctly, does it mean that Overall contribution from Costa is not so effective as compared to the Players above him. Doesnt it Sound like utter BS

Whoscored goes on stats alone so they add all stats and do an overall rating
Costa has a high turnover infact one of the highest in the league despite not having the ball as much as some other
his pass accuracy is very poor despite not touching the ball alot
he shoots alot but not many shots hits the target
his defensive stats are equally poor
so essentially he has goals as his only defence
However if you asked Simeone who he preferred he would chooce Costa without hesitation. So in essence unless you watch him you wouldn't really rate him that high

Difference gets narrower more bottom you go, so Isco being there doesn't really differentiate him from other, lets say Top 20-40 players. At the top it's more accurate I think.jibers wrote:Harmonica wrote:Whoscored Top 20 players of La Liga 2013-14 season.

Costa plays in a "team performance" team, he gets more help from his team mates, so his statistics get a hit. On average Costa contributed less than players above him. And his dribbling to turnover ratio is appalling.HEIL MEIN REDS wrote:i think i never understood the whoscored Rating...why Costa is so low. Re: La Liga 2013/14 Discussion Mk. 3
Barcelona star Lionel Messi has taken to Chinese social network, Weibo, to issue an apology to fans for not having won any trophies this season, whilst also assuring that he’s never had any intentions of leaving the Catalan club.
With the season over and with no silverware to boast, Lionel Messi took to Chinese social network Weibo, in order to offer his apologies for what he acknowledged has been a difficult season for everyone, but remaining convinced that things will be much better next season.
“Truthfully, things haven’t turned out as well as we expected. It’s been a tough year personally and as a group. We all had the opportunity to achieve one of our objectives in the final game and we couldn’t make the most of it.”
“All I can do is to ask the forgiveness of the Barcelona fans and to promise that next season, we’ll get back to the high level of this club and achieve important things.”
As for his own future, Messi assured that he’s never had any intentions of leaving Barcelona,
“With respect to myself, I’m very happy to stay here at my home, as I’ve always said. Maybe this year wasn’t what we’d expected and it wasn’t my best either, but I’m convinced, just like the rest of the group and personally too, that things will be different.”
“It’s the people of Barcelona who decide my future, but my choice is to continue because I still feel the same affection from them as always. Even if that wasn’t the case, I’d still seek a solution, because I always want the best for this club.”
Later in the day and according to local broadcaster TV3, Messi has also now signed his contract extension ahead of linking up with the Argentina squad for the World Cup in Brazil.
