Re: Chelsea Vs Paris Saint-Germain
If Sportz EVER mentions PSG being elite or world class or top 5 or whatever, he should be perma banned on the spot. What the flack was Blanc playing at tonight???

Blanc is a terrible manager. French Moyes but worse defensively.

I'm pretty sure Porto didn't cost much at all to assemble.
That's the thing with Mou, he has proven himself with a squad that costs nothing and proven himself in a squad that costs everything.
Besides, psychology 101 tells you that spending alot of money doesn't help as much as you think. Just look at Real Madrid and you will clearly see that the root of all evil (money) has clearly gotten way over their heads, squad full of divas and the team would have been a million times better if their pay checks weren't so high.

Just how long will people continue bringing up Porto? How many years ago was that and how many clubs has Maureen been at since?

Glad we put an end to the PSG hype machine. "Greatest French team ever!!!"
The Lyon team that won 7 League titles on the trot would wipe the floor with these scrubs.

It should be brought up everytime someone says Mourinho can't win without money considirng he already has
Only reason you don't like it being brought up is because it's the logical counter argument and it completly kills your attack on Mou

Re: Chelsea Vs Paris Saint-Germain
I don't watch the french league at all, but always heard how "great" PSG were.
Watching them v Chelsea made me surprised by how average they are. They didn't do nothing of any note tonight. It was so easy for Chelsea, and they technically did it without Hazard.

Since it's about the time that Arsenal last won a EPL title we shall just stop bring that up, shall we?
It's history, it's relevant to this topic. Also, point me to the last CL team who didn't have massive amounts of money to spend.

Re: Chelsea Vs Paris Saint-Germain
PSG's great problem is their midfield and it became very apparent over both legs.
Matuidi is useless unless the game is open from an offensive point of view... Motta just recycles possession and Verratti due to his age doesn't understand how to pass into the final third and doesn't make the correct off the ball runs.
Cabaye and Pastore did improve this because both those things come naturally to them and if Cavani wasn't a utter klutz in front of goal those changes would have sent them through.
Its why Ibra has to drop so deep in big games... because the rest of the midfield don't know how to impact the game beyond the half way line.
And his ability to almost become a 10 and get the ball from just beyond the half way line and into the attacking third was a clear miss.

Re: Chelsea Vs Paris Saint-Germain
Don't think it's that relevant. It's been almost 10 years that a team outside the big5 nations even made the semifinals and you can't say that's just because they have bad coaches or stuff like that. Importance of money has increased a lot.Kick wrote:Lex wrote:Just how long will people continue bringing up Porto? :lol:How many years ago was that and how many clubs has Maureen been at since?

Still I don't think it really matters reagarding Mourinho. I don't care if he has a lot of money. Only thing that matters is what he does with it. Just because you have a lot to spend doesn't mean you don't have work to do. There are just far too many rich clubs.
Fair play to Chelsea. Said they had a 10% chance and they took it. Probably was more than that tbf. Think I probably overrated PSG. Don't know. Whatever. Would like to see them play Real Madrid.

best team won, chelsea's mistakes gave way to psg's goals in the first leg.... and ibra and hazard out, chelsea were the complete dominant team... no parking bus... we are a team that can adapt to any team anyone throws at us... barca, bayern, psg, napoli, anyone...

People are underrating PSG. There is no way this will be a walk in the park for Chelsea.
Bar the Barca/PSG part
