Re: The Movie House - Part 4
Yeah, would have to see to understand the logic behind that choice though. Worst change of title is Die Hard with a vengeance being called Die Hard: Mega Hard in Denmark

Watched Edge of Tomorrow... great great science fiction movie. Don't how Emily Blunt does it, but I can't help falling in love with her every time she is on-screen

Same. Emily Blunt's eyes and accents are extremely charming

Have seen it 3 times .
That movie is intense ah. So unpredictable and suspenseful. Loved it.
Less said about Jude Law's studness in that movie, the better. Unreal

Re: The Movie House - Part 4
Lol it's actually more fascinating to follow the movie through Matt Damon's character which I'm sure which is what it is supposed to be, but still, I agree, Jude Law's studness in it

Her
Wow.
Wow.
Wow.
Absolutely wonderful film. A genius from writer and director Spike Jonze.
When a director tackles the task of shooting a sci-fi film, it's always going to be hard to make the audience relate to it and feel the emotion of the film. And only few directors have succeeded in doing so. And with Her, Spike Jonze, is one of them. In a technological advanced world where operating systems are of its sorts that they can act as humans, feel like humans but still not quite humans, far more intelligent than humans and still only a non-living thing. The protagonist, Theodore (Joaquin Phoenix), falls in love with his OS, Samantha. And what is depicted is such an honest and loving story of a lonely man's life in this world.
It's far from a simple movie. It certainly would've provided its challenges for the actors. And the actors just stepped up a notch for sure. Best performance I've seen from Joaquin Phoenix. While Scarlett Johansson who only had a voice in this film, did her challenging job just as well. Jonze also had a challenge. I absolutely liked the writing and directing part where
As said, Phoenix puts in an absolute masterclass performance. IMO, this performance should've hands down won him an Oscar for best actor. I think it was CBarca who said that he think Phoenix should've won it and I totally agree. The performance is tremendous really.
An original and near perfect film.
My rating: 8.7/10

Now that I've watched all of the top films from 2013, I can finally list my top 5 favourites.
1. Prisoners
2. Her
3. 12 Years a Slave
4. The Wolf of Wall Street
5. The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug
I'm a bit uncertain about number 5, but the top 4 are legit.

- Spoiler:
- Samantha suggested to Theodore about the surrogate that they can hire to pose as a human body for Samantha while they have sex. This part was magnificently executed by director Jonze.

Yeah read that yesterday, sounds awesome tbh, he has the charisma to make aquaman popular mainstream instead of being considered a joke.

Re: The Movie House - Part 4
Only DC casting I don't like/understand so far is Gal Gadot... Never seen anything in her limited roles to be the top female super hero. Would have loved Blunt or Jaimie Alexander. I'll give her the benefit of the doubt.

I still hope Gadot being Wonder Woman is actually one elaborate fake out by the studio to punish super nerds for spoiling everything.

Re: The Movie House - Part 4
"Word has it there's a new Batman solo film in the works."
lol, it will flop purely for the reason that it will be compared to Nolan's trilogy and I highly doubt it will surpass those movies.

Why????????
There's a Batman vs Superman movie coming out in a year or so and then a Justice League movie.
