Jose Mourinho: I admire Arsene Wenger and Arsenal, who are loyal in bad moments - of which there were a lot
Jose Mourinho could not resist a sly dig at Arsene Wenger ahead of Chelsea's game with Arsenal on Saturday, which will be the Frenchman's 1,000th match in England.
Whereas former Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson offered an unqualified tribute to his great rival, Mourinho remarked that Wenger had endured many "bad moments" with Arsenal.
"The tribute is to say we would love to have the same privilege with our clubs," Mourinho said, when asked if he had any praise for Wenger.
"I admire Wenger and I admire Arsenal, a club that stands by their manager in bad moments - of which there were quite a lot."
Mourinho was also asked if he regretted saying earlier in the season that Wenger was a "specialist in failure", in response to the Arsenal manager suggesting the Portuguese was playing down Chelsea's Premier League title chances because they "fear to fail".
"Ask him does he regret comment he made - I can't answer," was Mourinho's terse reply.

Dem arsenal digs
The gaffer
Even though I don't think he meant that as something negative.
Mourinho gave the right response that time. It was Voyeur that implied that someone more successful than him was afraid to fail...of course you're going to get an ugly response.

Mou he just can't let it be
At Wenger's funeral he'd probably say something like
"This is a great loss for Arsenal, for us colleagues and friends, and a sad day for the whole world of football, but at least we can rejoice in the thought that Arsene now doesn't have to deal anymore with persistent failure and losing all the time"

Mourinho most likely meant it as a positive thing.

And at the end of it, Wenger will be revered as a legend at his club and one of the best EPL managers ever... loved and respected everywhere he's been. Stuck it out with Arsenal when they couldn't spend at all and showed something Mou will never have: Gratitude and loyalty.
While Mourinho will probably end badly. Usually people with big mouths and no class are disdained once they no longer bring the results. It's already pre-ordained for this pathetic excuse of a human being.

That's all well and good but tell us how you really feel about Mourinho.
It's just trash talk. If Wenger is so insecure that Jose's comments hurt him then that's his problem. Besides, the easiest way to get Mou to shut up and give props is to beat him.

Brian Clough wouldn't stand for this crap, tbh. He'd drive over to Maureen's house and put a brick through his window/face

No he wouldn't. Don't disrespect Clough by suggesting he'd resort to violence. You know absolutely nothing of the man and his character.

Not sure about the Clough remark, he was many things but certainly not a violent man. To all we know, he may have laughed considering he had, above all, a sense of humour.

Look, shut up. The only club where it ended badly for Mou was - surprise, surprise - Madrid.....where it has ended badly for A LOT of other managers as well. Take this high horse attitude and shove it somewhere else. Your bitterness is looking silly these days.sportsczy wrote:And at the end of it, Wenger will be revered as a legend at his club and one of the best EPL managers ever... loved and respected everywhere he's been. For what its worth, I don't think Jose meant this as a negative remark after watching the video but I guess its a talking point so carry on.

Mourinho has the best win % ratio in the league EVER.
He's also won as many league titles as Wenger in 1/5th of the games Arsene has managed.
Wenger will no doubt go down as a legend in the PL, but Mou definitely will too. All of Chelsea's success is pretty much down to Jose.
EDIT: Well, he's won one less. But he has 800+ games to get another one. He's pretty much the favourite to win it this season, too.

Mourinho will be rated as one of best coach ever, so this matter doesn't make sense.
the antipathy about men shouldn't weigh on football ratings . I mean ... nothing against Wenger... but I have serious doubts the football fans will talk more about Wenger than Mourinho in future.

Probably.
But that also depends on the set of fans. Because fans of lower clubs in England respects Arsene far more than Mourinho.
But fans outside of England will talk more about Mourinho as he won titles everywhere.

Re: Jose Mourinho: I admire Arsene Wenger and Arsenal, who are loyal in bad moments - of which there were a lot
"loved and respected" .. Wenger is not hated , but I see also the ironic meme on Wenger every time Arsenal hasn't not won a trophy for example
Mourinho is not loved surely, but hardly he is not respected . even who doesn't tolerate him it does this.
I think it's all much relative tbh
They are 2 coach totally different anyway , it is enough to consider Wenger is reached 1000 matches with a club , Mourinho can't resist more than 3 years in a club.
This without going into about the game, mentality etc
They are so totally different that it was inevitable that they would clash.
There are reasons to prefer Wenger for that that I wrote up, it depends for the project, I choose Mourinho between 2 but I am biased about it.

Scum but a great result oriented coach . For all the talk there is so little football from all his teams most of the times its controversies and trolling . Wenger is operating on a small budget compared to chavs and still trolls him . He has been disrespectful to all the managers he faced .And his supporters praise every fart he makes as perfume .

In a space of less than 4 years with a cash laden injection of money yearly. Allegri has the 3rd highest winning percentage for Milan yet isn't even in their Top 5 managers. Skewed statistics.
Unless we're forgetting Ranieri who built the team, Di Matteo who won Abramovic's actual target and of course, Roman Abramovic himself.
In completely different circumstances that do not justify even half of the difference between them and the outliers included.
On-Topic: No surprise Mourinho is coming out with another inwardly passive-aggressive comment that typifies that peasant that he is really is as it doesn't surprise me given that Setubal is like the Murcia of Portugal.
Wenger best ignore these comments.
