PSG were underwhelming tbh. Lucky to win this 3-1. Ibra flopping in an other big match.

3 - This is only the second time in 21 CL games that Chelsea have conceded 3+ goals.

Very poor from Cech right there but we can very well win 2-0 at the Bridge. Chances are that the tie is over though. Costly goal.

Silva
Maybe MacAgsy meant David Luiz. Silva was good apart from the conceded penalty.

Chelsea created so very little.Bar the penalty incident and Hazard's shot which hit the post,i dont seem to remember many chances they created.

PSG always score a goal though... so Chelsea will likely need 4.

Mourinho is in decline. Getting badly out coached by Blanc, the best coach of all time.

Fernando Torres reminds me those basketball players of Space Jam movie, who were robbed of their talents and essentially become zombies. Merciless end.

Atleti can still advance. And Psg, as they showed against Barça last season, have no problem parking the bus..

That was Carlo Ancellotti. Blanc doesn't PTB. But they likely will for the first time against Chelsea because Chelsea suck so bad when they have to create play. It would be the smart thing to do anyhow.harhar11 wrote:sree999 wrote:Bus parkers all are out i guess . Man u are the last busparker remaining

He does when its necessary.... France v Spain is an example.
He just hasn't had to do it this season as PSG has more talent than anyone they face.

Oh, I agree. While I dislike that particular style, sometimes it's the smartest thing to do, especially if your best player will most likely miss the game and the replacement is Lucas..

Re: Paris Saint-Germain 3 - 1 Chelsea
I don't think he had a choice... his midfield was Diarra-M'Vila-Cabaye v Busquets-Xavi-Xabi-Iniesta. Even if he didn't want to, that's how it was going to lookGreat Leader Sprucenuce wrote:sportsczy wrote:That was Carlo Ancellotti. Blanc doesn't PTB. Re: Paris Saint-Germain 3 - 1 Chelsea
Finally a match that was actually entertaining from a technical and TACTICAL point of view.
As I stated before, Chelsea are literally the handmade team that trouble PSG as teams like ASSE, Rennes, Bastia etc play similarly as it was no surprise that the midfield in the 1st half struggled, especially due to Chelsea playing high through their own half.
Motta did not have a clear and concise role considering a player of his role was not needed immediately was an organized Chelsea. For all the frustrating plays of Verratti he was equally brilliant in finding space on the flanks and connected with Ibrahimovic in the midfield very well. Matudi had his poorest game of the CL campaign as he was rash and careless in possession.
People speak of Zlatan not scoring yet it would be callous and silly to rule out the influence he had in the midfield dropping deep given PSG's inability to transcend midfield to attack efficiently. Ibra failed to produce in the box (outside 2 solid shots in the box) yet there is no doubting that his control of the tempo (at will) within the midfield and providing a wonderful outlet to the attack was influential. Cavani did not perform on the wing given his recent divorce with Juventus CB and Uruguayan, Martin Cacares. Yet it went even beyond the divorce and into the realm where his confidence and mentality have been shaken by him being slotted out wide in his Uruguay role.
Normal Cavani scares defences from deep running with or without the ball and occupies all of the backline, even as his move to CF (to which caused trouble to Chelsea) yet his final ball was lacking.
Post Lavezzi goal Chelsea were the superior team in efficiently marking their runs end to end while PSG struggled to produce in the final third, literally no one acted as a reference point given Ibra's role and Cavani's width.
In comes 2nd half and Blanc brilliantly changes the set-up in his favour. By deploying a more wide set-up exploiting a narrow Chelsea and deploying Motta deeper between Silva and Alex, PSG immediately gained control without sacrificing the organization in the banks of 3 that spelled their 1st half. Chelsea were completely dominated 2nd half.
Goals:
Lavezzi's goal was world class. Left or right foot it is no surprise that since Blanc finally has been using him properly that he is a bang on starter for Paris. In Napoli, last year for Paris and now this year, Lavezzi continues to prove that he is an absolute wizard in the Champions League. Man of the match without a doubt.
David Luiz own goal was a product of David Luiz. No surprise his already shoddy midfield performance was put to testament by a clownish own goal.
Pastore's brilliant goal was NOT actually surprising given that we know of his talent and ability, yet his mental lack of fortitude prevents him from performing on a consistent basis. Absolutely roasted Lampard for it.
Points:
-Oscar penalty was not a penalty. Silva received the ball yet Oscar forced all his weight on purposely tripping over Silva whist looking at the ref
-Cavani deserved a penalty after being brought down by Gary Cahill
-Hazard bar his penalty goal and a brilliant left-footed shot to the post was underwhelming as Jallet and Cavani did a brilliant job on him.
-Silva was pure brilliance. People tend only to scrutinize his mistakes and not what he does best, to which was seen in all its glory tonight.
-Alex was playing beyond his means tonight. A weak point vs pacy sides.
-Maxwell was brilliant.
-Decision to bring on Lucas for Ibra (looks like a long term injury) was brilliant as it continued to stretch Chelsea out further to which should have been done in the beginning. Blanc proves again his eye for the necessary changes.
Tie is not over. You must remember Napoli vs Chelsea 1st leg 3-1. Yes, PSG is better than that Napoli but this Chelsea is better than that Chelsea. Added to the fact that Napoli suited the similar playing styles to which held them comfortable in the 1st leg vs Chelsea. Paris I stated before will be exposed for some weaknesses by this Chelsea as its a wonder how they even won 3-1 despite the numerous problems exploited. Stamford Bridge can provide a surprise given Mourinho's record there and an inevitable build-up to which not have Paris as confident as they were today. I still am sceptical but hope I am wrong.

Oh, there are plenty of other ways to play them, there just aren't many (if any) other ways to BEAT them (consistently).
