Valencia,Porto,Benfica,Sevilla ,all these sides have enough pace and movement to trouble this rather underwhelming Juventus backline.
And secondly, its inevitable Conte will play a 2nd choice team again. He doesnt care enough for this competition going by his recent comments.

Re: -The Official Club of Europa League>Champions League Gathering- Pt.II
Sevilla have Unai Emery, who nearly lost the tie for starting with the usually unsuccessful 4-4-2, then waiting until the 75th minute to replace Mbia, who was a passenger too afraid to tackle after he was booked in the first half, and then playing Coke in central midfield for the remainder of the game.
Apart from that, well done Unai.
The tie shouldn't have gotten this far, really. Sevilla battered Betis in the first leg but failed to take their chances. Still, they've done brilliantly to recover, and tonight I thought Alberto Moreno put in an excellent all round display, and Rakitic did brilliantly as the holding midfielder.
I thought they would lose the penalties as Betis were just putting into the top corner every time, but they managed to pull that one out of their arses.
No chance of winning it but would like AZ or Basel in the next round.

Re: -The Official Club of Europa League>Champions League Gathering- Pt.II
If we dont make it to the final this season is unsuccessful. Its a simple as that.
Re: -The Official Club of Europa League>Champions League Gathering- Pt.II
I waited something of better by Napoli , probably dazzled for that great CL stage..I say thing considering also the double match against Swansea where the Welsh squad played better than them
This year the Napoli has always been a squad much cynical that compesated the weakness of that defence ( today Albiol awful on 1-1 , he doesn't read the situation of offside)
Against Torino it won with only one shoot , similar scenario against Roma
today ... probably in the most important match of season , it was the forward line to betray the Napoli.....
not a great idea to keep Callejon on bench anyway . and this Hamsik is becoming a problem for Napoli, maybe he would need of another experience outside Napoli, city who frays you mentally
Napoli gives you much ( passion) but it takes away you too

Please just admit that you are missing the Basque Ace like a desert drifter misses moisture.
I for one cannot understand how you even can choose to touch upon Unai's European record, which will have me produce this very enlightening stat for your hateful existence:

Re: -The Official Club of Europa League>Champions League Gathering- Pt.II
Juve would have snubbed Europe League in normal conditions.
but no reasons to do it with Serie A Already won ( this is another reason because I hoped in Serie A's title more hard-won) .
so juve fans can't fear about it. they can fear other things , as the fact that the Italian club struggle too much to play in Europe, where there is game so different from this Serie A ( probably it's not a compliment for Serie A) , today the Napoli was knock out from worst Porto last 10 years ( only 1 victory in CL group, double tie against Eintacht..) ...and Napoli wanted the qualification . It was not as that crap of Napoli - Pilzen tbf ... and for this reason Juve can struggle more with another club than with the Italian club Fiorentina...
...but anyway my idea about the final scenario of this cup I have already said it

Re: -The Official Club of Europa League>Champions League Gathering- Pt.II
After I recovered sufficiently from the nerve-wrecking FC Salzburg - FC Basel 1893 match (first leg: 0:0), here a short recap:
At the start Salzburg tried to steamroll Basel, but didn't manage to score as they missed the goal by far from point blanc range.
At minute 9, Marek Suchy saw a straigth red for a stupid tackle and Basel from then had to play with 10 to 11. Consequently, SAlzburg scored the 1:0 shortly thereafter.
After half an hour, idiots from the Basel fans threw stuff at the Salzburg players when they tried to kick a corner. The ref sent the players into the dressing room and stopped the match for about 15 minutes.
After the teams came back, Basel had regrouped and Streller scored the 1:1 in the 50th minute after a set piece. Salzburg tried everything, but either they failed due to their inability in front of the goal or due to Yann Sommer's excellence. Then Basel scored a second goal after another set piece.
In the 56th minute, Arlind Ajeti was lucky only to get booked after he stupidly attacked one Salzburg player à la Zidane in the 2006 WC final. In the 86th minute, a stupid fould by Alan saw Salzburg reduced to 10, too.
So in summary we had 6 yellows, 2 reds, 15 minutes extra break and the end result Salzburg 1:2 Basel. Basel thus proceeds to the EL quarter final...

Re: -The Official Club of Europa League>Champions League Gathering- Pt.II
Was able to catch portions of the Napoli-Porto game and some of the Betis-Sevilla game and I must say those games were quite entertaining; especially the Sevilla game. I really liked Emery's spirit and desire to get his team playing today.
As for other things, I'm surprised and disappointed to see the result of the Salzburg game as they were one of my favourites to watch.
Overall, these legs were excellent!

You should be happy - the main culprit for the dearth of Salzburg goals was Yann Sommer who will play for BMG next season. ^^MaestroFavre wrote:As for other things, I'm surprised and disappointed to see the result of the Salzburg game as they were one of my favourites to watch.

He will? Wow I hadn't seen any reports until you said it and I searched for it. Couldn't have asked for a better replacement. Why do you reckon bigger clubs weren't after him?

Well, there were rumours about an interest by Milan, Juve and Schalke, but it seems that BMG just offered him the best package.MaestroFavre wrote:He will? Agreed with Robes. Napoli were dominating until that scrub Hamsik came on. He just doesn't fit 4231, and Higgy has much better chemistry with others than then Mohawk guy. He is the cancer in the team and I have no doubt he will be sold this summer if Napoli are to develop their project with Rafa. Top 3 finish and copa win would be an okay first season I guess (combined with much improved Uefa coefficients for Napoli)

Was hoping Fiorentina would upset Juve, but they were just poor, couldnt create ANYTHING up front. Juve werent that goods, but just overall a bit better. Vidal and Pogba's energy is unbelievable.
Not sure why Madri came on for Gomez... whenever I see Gomez is just much better.
Overall Fiorentina vs Juve I watched lately just didnt show anything much impressive apart from some of Cuadrado's plays and the goal by Gomez. Bit disappointing tbh.

I think Porto will go out here. They still wont have a coach and the team is struggling, they were lucky to get past Napoli really.
