Re: Jose Enrique
Yeah bit disappointing about the setback ruled out for the season. But cissokho has been solid in the last few games and with Johnson returning we should be able to cope with that reasonably
Also think Enrique could be moved on in the summer. So may have played his last game for us sadly

So alls not bleak on injury front

Re: Jose Enrique
So he's ruled out for the season now? Goddamn, I was hoping he'd be back at least in April...... And no, I don't see why he would be sold, he's a good left-back, I want him playing for us.

Re: Jose Enrique
Worst news of the season if he's out for the season.
Johnson at RB and Flano at LB, BR pls.

He was iniatially rumoured to be out for the season when the injury happened. Thought he was going to make a speedy recovery. Bad news.

Re: Jose Enrique
Why do everyone want Cissokho dropped? I thought he was our best defender at FUlham
Seems defensively solid and has started to go forward as well though his crossing sucks badly. Not great but think is decent enough to warrant selection in the XI imo

Who knows, but I've got my hopes up high on him. He's class when he's fit and in form.

He's a million times better than Bertrand. Seriously hope those rumors are false. Enrique please get back to the level you were in the first 6 months with us

Re: Jose Enrique
If Enrique is fit and other options are Bertrand or overpaying for Moreno, I'd go into the season with Enrique and Flanno and be happy with it.

Re: Jose Enrique
So would I. I personally think RB is the bigger worry of the two fullback spots. We'll eventually have to upgrade at LB but more pressing concern await us.

Re: Jose Enrique
Enrique is inconsistent even when fit... which in itself is becoming something of a crapshoot in recent seasons. We need a legitimate option to compete with him in the short term and supplant him long-term. He's in his prime but not top quality (near when in form), inconsistent, and a bit injury prone.
We'd be playing with fire to go into the season with literally only him as a true LB available.

Re: Jose Enrique
This guy have played in all pre-season games, right! I haven't watched any of those but from what I read, he was between solid & very good.
Those who have watched him (live or otherwise) please enlighten me.

Re: Jose Enrique
Same old Enrique really. Quick and strong, but positionally suspect, inconsistent on the ball, and inefficient in the pass/cross.

Re: Jose Enrique
So, those who were able to watch the Middlesbrough game and Enrique's first start of the season, what did you think?
I thought he was a bit rusty at first, but then got into the game very well. Defended his flank well and got the ball up pretty nicely, too, showcasing some neat passing and touches.
Moreno has had a pretty good start to his Liverpool life, scoring a wonderful goal against Tottenham, but I like Jose a lot. And I think he's defensively probably better than Moreno. I'm hoping Enrique would get a start in the league in the next few games, because he's too good a player to fly completely out of the picture when Moreno is available.

Re: Jose Enrique
Although it was a championship side, he looked fit and confident, so it is BR's choice now whom to start with. For me both Enrique and Moreno are OK, or at least they can be used depending on the opponent.

Re: Jose Enrique
He looked decent coming back from injury so I'll give him the benefit of the doubt, but wasn't it he at fault for their first goal? Or was it somebody else? lol

He was the closest man, but that was a perfect delivery, hard and accurate into the space between the goalkeeper and defence line, you can't prevent all of those goals.
I hope Enrique will get a chance in the Premiership within a month.

Re: Jose Enrique
Only looked "perfect" because it was terrible defending. lol
He only came back from a long term injury though, so like I said not slating it with him. Hopefully he gets rotated and gets eased into it with Moreno now at the club. Don't want to rush him back, and Moreno hasn't looked too bad so quite content with our full backs on the left hand side for the time being.
