I think Lampard will be good. But best player in the league? He has to out perform a ton of players. There is a lot more quality in MLS right now than there was 5 years ago.

The reason people are kind of hating on this Lampard deal is because NYCFC, with all their resources people were hoping they would make bigger signings for some younger star players. They are giving him 9m a year, and I think there are a lot of players as of now that are better and younger than Lampard that would have played in a Volcano for that much money

Nobody I feel thinks that Lampard won't be good enough to play in MLS.. But under the current rules only 3 players on the roster can make more than 394k US Dollars per season.. So you have to make the most of those three spots, and they need to be big contributors. Someone who only fills a Giggs/ Scholes role isn't enough. But I think Lamps will prove people wrong and give much more than that. I've been very impressed with him in his interviews, he seems very serious and committed. He'll be a great player in MLS but probably better as an embassador.

But best player in MLS and break the single season scoring record? I'll eat my socks if he even gets more than half way there.
