Hats off to one of the most versatile defenders in the game and an overrated one as well. He just scored another wonderful golazo for Barca and he doesn't always score, but when he does it's a beauty. Today he scored his 9th barca goal which hopefully seals the semis and I'll be sure to post all 9 here when I get a chance.

one of my favorite barca players. versatile, good in attack, good in defense. can't get why is that alba guy playing over him.

Rated him for a longggg time. Hes underrated. Too bad it seems Alba still is first choice and seem to fit Barca's game better, but Adriano is class, better attacking then defending of cos, also could be a very good midfielder/winger.

Adriano would actually be first option though if he weren't such a glass cannon, if he lasts more then three games without injury it'd be a miracle.

Brazil has some wealth at fullback ATM. You have dani alves, marcelo, maicon, filipe luis, Adriano himself, the da silva twins, even maxwell (who isn't WC but still decent.)

And while Adriano is up there with most versatile, they should all be glad that neither Roberto Carlos or cafu are around to have to compete with.

He'd be a great back up though seeing as how he can cover both sides. I'd take Dani Alves, Marcelo, Felipe Luis, and Adriano.

I prefer Filipe Luis over both Adriano and Maxwell but Maxwell is the favourite now.

Im not so sure its so clear cut Adriano > Alba. Alba is very good when on form and suits Barca's play very well, more so than Adriano who is very good in a different way and more individual. Most cases its fair managers choose the best player they have for the position.
