Re: Barclay's Premier League discussion '13-'14 V6
Fulham begging to PL to cancel their game vs. us on Wednesday
Decision to be made tomorrow. Be a massive joke if the game is cancelled for tube striker, while Arsenal and West Ham (both with bigger grounds and more fans) play in London the very same night.
Assholes know they are physically shot after yesterday's effort and want that Greek guy to be fit. Watch FA cancel the game though

LOL at people still thinking we still have a shot of making top 4. Hell, why not include Newcastle and Southampton, they have just as much chance of qualifying as we do.McAgger wrote:

Maybe you'll win the CL and qualify through that, a la Chelsea

They should have enough room to carry all their staff and stewards on the bus they parked at Old Trafford ffs

West Ham and Arsenal also have home games in London, you don't see them complaining. The FA better laugh the appeal all the way to the shredder.

London is a big place, the strikes will affect people in different ways in different places.
Rest assured though, if the FA/PL feel there is no merit behind Fulham's concern the game will go ahead.

So may be Fulham are trying to show the reason as they want to do it for fans

Not sure what you're suggesting here. They've risen concerns about the strikes and the impact it might have on security staff getting to Craven Cottage. Maybe due to Liverpool fans history the concerns are pressing ones.
As I said though; it will only be called off if absolutely necessary.

Postponing a game over safety concerns is perfectly reasonable, but Fulham's claims about the issue certainly seem odd. As of this morning LFC hadn't been informed of the possibility of the game being postponed, Arsenal who have significantly more people required to run their stadium and a much larger and more contentious opponent insist that the strike won't be an issue, and Fulham have known about the strike since January 10th when it was announced... that's plenty of time to get another plan in place or make an announcement (and decision) ahead of time, rather than in the days leading up to (day before) the match. And it's worth noting that Fulham's ground is closer to an above-ground rail station (which won't be affected by the strike) than Arsenal's or just about any other London club's... so the argument that the tube strike will affect Fulham differently from other London clubs rings just a wee bit hollow.
If there's a legitimate safety concern then postponing the match is certainly a reasonable measure to take, but given the forewarning, actual logistics, and fact that other clubs in similar/worse situations seem unaffected it's certainly reasonable to question Fulham's handling of the affair.

Re: Barclay's Premier League discussion '13-'14 V6
Seems the "...it will only be called off if absolutely necessary" bit flew over someone's head.
The game is still going ahead, it has not been abandoned, or forfeit. Fulham have expressed concerns about being able to fulfill security guarantees if the tube strikes proceed, that is all.
This is clear in the statement and reports.

Yes, and as we said, the issue is that they've had a month to prepare for this or decide it wouldn't be feasible, so leaving it until the day before strikes as questionable.

Re: Barclay's Premier League discussion '13-'14 V6
The strikes may not go ahead yet either.
Don't worry yourself though, if the governing body feel the game can go ahead it will and Fulham will have to commit, or face punishment from the FA.
You're getting all worked up over nothing at the moment.

The fans attempting to make travel plans have plenty to get worked up over given the nature of the situation, and there's absolutely nothing odd about the club and its fans being concerned over the situation as well.

Arsenal are gonna twat us tomorrow. Never felt so low on confidence when it comes to this fixture.
They are gonna take Saturday's drubbing, plus all the beatings we've given them in the past years all out on us tomorrow night.

2 wins out of 10 for United. We're in a charitable mood (gifted 5 goals to Liverpool) We'll probably lend United a hand, might even let Cleverley get a goal or two
