Agreed with lex. Really thought it should have been red. If Chelsea had been at home I think it would have been given

We loaned out a lot of players, because the u-21 league fails to provide competitive games. Chelsea is a completely different beast, though.

Yes it should have been red, remember Arteta vs Chamakh? it was by the half way-line and Chamakh ran in to him and Arteta received a RED.

Re: Barclay's Premier League discussion '13-'14 V6
I hope this is not Man City being exposed their problem which has existed all along and perhaps hidden by their great attack and goal scoring lately. They were terrible defensively for months since the start of the season.
Demichelis I just still dont get, always thought he was bad, but seem to be given such important CB roles at the big clubs and do well at times, but exposed so badly often too....
anyway, Mou proves again how damn good he is.... Pellegrini showing his weakness.... I just get how his Malaga side was so good defensively but MAn City such a mess in defense?

Re: Barclay's Premier League discussion '13-'14 V6
Mourinho & Wenger round on 'lucky' Manchester City
"I think they have everything," Mourinho told reporters. "The players are obviously very good. On top of that - and I want to make it very clear that, for me, it is just a coincidence and nothing else - the reality is they have had many crucial decisions in their favour. They are lucky.
"Against Liverpool, the Sterling 'goal', the penalty on Suarez. Against Newcastle, the [disallowed] goal that is a clear goal. Against Tottenham, Dawson's goal, the penalty, the red card [for Rose]. They are having everything.
"I repeat: just pure coincidence. The referees try to do their best, and sometimes they make mistakes. But at the moment they have everything in their favour. But it's just a coincidence. The players and team are very good, and the manager is working very well."
-----------------------------------------------------
City's thrashing of Spurs was less convincing than it first appeared when put under the microscope, Wenger added.
"At the moment, they are on fire," the Arsenal boss said. "But people are always tempted to go to definite conclusions after one game.
"Of course they had an impressive win, and a great quality game at Tottenham. But if you analyse it well, this game could have turned. All the turning points went in their favour. If they had not, you are not sure they would have won the game."

lol oh man l forgot about that until now.
But l think that goes to prove my point. CP were at home and the call went there way. lts the correct call but still a gutsy one for a ref to make, so unlikely to get called away from home. City fans would have went berzerk... Well, those that didn't already leave the game when it was only 1-0 ffs

Re: Barclay's Premier League discussion '13-'14 V6
I want to bang my head to the wall, we'd be right up there with the top 3, had we not dropped stupid points to Villa and WBA by totally idiotic mistakes .
I guess the only silver lining is, we've been playing with our second choice defense for over 1.5 months and we're still forth. Sakho and Agger couldn't get fit soon enough
I've been quiet, because I frankly wanted to cry at the manner we dropped points vs. WBA. It was disgusting....sort of error you'll see in parks. though WBA are a weird team, I just read the only team in the top 8, not to drop points to them is City

Will Agger be fit for us? He is the only defender we struggle against.

After Laudrup's sacking, Moyes is the Premier League's 9th current longest serving manager.

Doubt it. Both him and Sakho should be back for FA Cup game though.
We have a terrible record against you, and normally I should expect another shit game vs. our bogey side....but weirdly, this season we've managed to break 2 of our 4 major hoodoos in the league (games at WHL and Britannia, other hoodoos being home game vs. Arsenal and away at OT) , so hope we can break the 3rd hoodoo too ) . Have 100% win record on bt sport, and usually after a shit result, we put in great performances. having said that, I'm tempted not to take up at 6:30 AM, and just wake up and find out the result. My heart rate isn't healthy enough at the moment

If Fulham beat us on Sunday, 100% Moyes will get sacked. They are the worst team in the league atm.
Nothing more than a convincing win will do.

If you lose to Fulham I'm not even sure I could make fun of you, I'd just feel sad for you honestly.

Re: Barclay's Premier League discussion '13-'14 V6
Mole in supporting his second team shocker . Basically 3 results separate us from the top 3. Hull (A), Villa (H), and WBA (A). Unsurprisingly all those results have come from Toure-Skrtel CB partnership. I'd fresking love to see how the top 3 would cope and be affected if 3 of their 4 starting defenders were all out injured for a run of 7-8 games. Because in a lot of away games in prem, you need to grind out those 1-0 wins and you require your defense to be in top shape and personnel to pull it off. It's a lot harder to do it when you're basically playing a totally second choice defense. Anyways, we have a shocking recent record vs. Arsenal , we had an ever worse and more shocking record away to Spurs and Stolle and we got rid of it with great performances. We also are very rarely poor for two games running, so I expect a massive response on Saturday. We will all know a lot more in 84 hours time....so I guess time will tell. Shame we can't see Araenal fielding a Jenkinson-Vermaelen-Koscielny-Montreal defense for 8 period run or City with Boyota-Nastadic-Demichelis-Koraloc for same time period. Well anyways, we'll find out more in a few days. Onwards and upwards
