Re: Julian Draxler
Draxler wont have a sniff towards the midfield of Arsenal because of the competition. Wenger will obv. play him as a forward.

Re: Julian Draxler
Wenger successfully coverted Henry and RVP into world class strikers. There's no reason he can't here.
Bad news for Walcott if true.

Re: Julian Draxler
Guys ignore the striker crap, its just RG after using him as one on Fifa lol.
He's never had a competitive game as a striker in his life.
Its not gonna happen.

How does it effect Walcott? Draxler will mostly play on the left if this happens and Walcott plays on the right.

A pity he doesn't want to stay another year or so at Schalke. But then, they are already grooming the next kids from their academy ^^

Walcott views his future as a centre forward. When Draxler is converted into that role he'll present competition to Walcott.

Re: Julian Draxler
Draxler will be used as a winger aka forward/striker.

Re: Julian Draxler
Isnt Henry the only player he has actually converted? Over a decade ago now?
RVP was a second striker with an eye for goal, hardly a conversion. Plus if Feeynoord was anything like Ajax, its mandate to learn 3 positions before "graduating" to the next level. So, moving to striker is really nothing.
He talked about moving Walcott to striker, that aint ever happening...that was just a lie to keep Walcott happy in his naivety of being the "next Henry"

Re: Julian Draxler
That's over man.... Walcott has already accepted the fact he's never playing as a CF unless injuries occur.
That was just a negotiation tactic to get a new contract, he's been quoted multiple times he likes playing on the right since then and thinks its good for him.
Doesn't impact Walcott at all, it impacts Cazorla and Podolski but that's it.

Walcott's always talking of being played more centrally. This will be disappointing news to him.

Ok
Why doesn't he bitch and moan when Bendtner is starting then?
Give over man.

How do you know he doesn't? Plus, how often does Bendtner actually start?

Re: Julian Draxler
More than Walcott does
As i said the striker phase is over and done with and he's more than happy to play on the right.
Don't believe me? ask any Arsenal fan here.
This possible signing doesn't effect Walcott in anyway what so ever.

Re: Julian Draxler
Walcott isn't the manager. He knows where his position is and where he has to start. His personal feelings can gtfo. He is the best RW in the PL for a reason and he knows why. His new role is basically as a RF anyways.
*IF* Draxler joins then he will most likely play at LW. Or wherever he is being signed to play for.
Most likely being signed for the summer

Re: Julian Draxler
I don't get the hype at all. I've seen him play regularly and he is very very average. Is it just because of the second half of last season that he is rated so highly?

I thought you might be still dining on that humble pie from when you were shown up about the Neymar deal. Instead you still act the know-it-all.
I've not seen any quote from Walcott that suggests he's given up his desire to play as a CF. Not you or any Arsenal fan would convince me until he states himself.

Re: Julian Draxler
Well, I see him play pretty often, too, and I really wouldn't call the kid average. He's definitely a good prospect, and frankly I don't think he does himself a favour to leave that early in his career. At Schalke he'd have more time to continue his development.

No better place for a youngster to develop than under Wenger's tutelage.rwo power wrote:Well, I see him play pretty often, too, and I really wouldn't call the kid average. Re: Julian Draxler
Any word on the fee? weren't Schalke constantly reiterating he wouldn't be sold for less than 40m?
Not going to pretend like I've seen him outside of some highlights (signed him on FIFA last year, he was a slow LW )
Interesting signing but from the limited stuff I do know, seems a little bit weird. Why not try to sign a legit established forward for that kind of cash?

79 sprint speed is pretty good for a 20 year old. Might increase with age to 85-ish.
