Re: Diego Milito
Milito rejected West Ham
West Ham were at once time hoping to sign Diego Milito in January. However, Diego Milito (and also Inter) has already rejected the English club because Il Principe prefers to stay until the end of the season and then he will move back to Argentina to finish his career. Inter are not expected to sign him to a contract extension.

Not only West Ham on Diego Milito. According to the Irish Mirror, Daily newspaper in Dublin, there is also a Belgium club following Il Principe. The team is Standard Liege who have set sight on the veteran Argentinian forward. However, the player’s intention is to wear the shirt of Racing after this season.

Racing president: “I will call Milito next week”
In an interview with Radio La Red, Racing president Victor Blanco reveals what we all know and that is he wants to bring back Milito to Argentina at the end of the season.
“Next week, I will call Milito because for him, the doors of Racing are always open. So I will talk to him next week and I think that he can return in June. Again, Racing doors will be open for Milito but it will also be up to him.”

Yes, because Mazzarri loves old players (and he hates those young )

Re: Diego Milito
Milito scored two goals this season, both of them were in the 7-0 victory over Sassualo after the game was in the bag (5th and 7th goals). This means that his total contribution this season is almost nothing.
Icardi on the other hand did not start a single match. He came in and scored against juvi for a 1-1 draw, he did the exact same thing a couple of weeks after against Cagliari, and last week he scored the winning goal against Fiorentina. Total contribution: 4 points.
But hey, Milito has the age thing going so he makes a good argument for himself.

Re: Diego Milito
Honestly Mazarri should take a step back, see that investing minutes in Milito will give him a limited return that will continue to grow.
If instead he gives those minutes to Icardi he might have a better player for next season, and Icardi already has more goals than Diegoat anyways doesn't he?
