So, if Agger returns its likely Sakho would be benched

What is the big problem in starting both Agger and Shako!!! If you can have two right-footed players what's wrong with two left-footed players!!!

I think Toure and Sakho are our best CBs atm. Skrtel is good too, but I am fed up of his own goals recently. Sakho-Toure should be tried. Physically brilliant as well as excellent on the ball.

@Ifthi bhai I'm not sure about the problem is but it somehow seems how BR functions, that is not play Agger & Sakho together.
@Art: well considering his goal scoring form may well give this guy a little break just to straighten out his luck!

ffrrck it seems i changed my opinion, i really dont care about the back 4, all look same to me, no clean shite from long time although i think clean shites are overrated sometimes.
Bet me on this, following line up will start

Re: Spurs vs. Liverpool
There's no way Rodgers wil go with only Lucas and Allen in midfield. I really hope Alberto starts.
Also Agger will be back in the lineup. Like Red said he's been played every time he's been available except the couple of times where Rodgers specifically stated he wanted better aerial presence against stronger strikers.

Re: Spurs vs. Liverpool
Would like to point out that Spurs topped the EL group already so even though AVB usually puts out a fairly decent team against EL opposition, he surely will put out the worst squad he can muster against Anzhi. Throw away game. So I wouldn't say you guys have an advantage with freshness.
Also Spurs haven't played as much boring possession football in the last couple games either (explains the 6 goals in the last 3 matches). More than anything, AVB has shown to be pragmatic, so if flying wingers and fast paced play is what AVB thinks is best, you may see that. I think that's less likely than the slower possession football though. Most likely is there will be somewhat of a mix.
Anyway, with the way the Spurs backline has been recently, you guys are guaranteed a goal from an error by someone. I think the game will come down to whether Spurs can score on you lot or not.
2-1 for Spurs
Should be a fun game, at least.

No chance. I'm not a fan of the defender Agger has turned into recently (although to his credit, he did okay against Fulham and Everton, although I still think Sakho should of played in the Merseyside game to contain Lukaku) but Daniel is still better than Kolo Toure.
As for Skrtel, his own goal against Hull was stupid, but his own goal against West Ham was unfortunate. He's still been our best defender this season. Sakho is definitely giving him a run for his money now and to his credit deserves consistent game time.
I think Skrtel and Sakho looked very solid against West Ham. Should definitely be tried out in the future. Sakho after all, is our best defender. He should be playing every game. Skrtel, this season, has looked to regain his form from 11/12.

Henderson should be fit according to the Independent.
Spurs midfield is going to kill us if he doesn't play lol.

I'd rather play Ibe than Moses as of right now.
I really hope we get rid of him ASAP.

Re: Spurs vs. Liverpool
Think Henderson will play on the left side tucking in to midfield when needed IF fit. Walker had one of his best games of the season last week. Was all over that right side for them. Need to close him down to make sure he has a bad game. He is average defensively after all.
If we rely on Coutinho this game, we won't get a result. Sandro will dominate us.

Kaboul might miss the game too.
They don't have a defence ffs. Go all out guns blazing. Lloris has been average this season, too.

Doubtful Kaboul would have played, anyway. Fully expecting Capoue and Dawson like last week. Capoue was fantastic in the CB position (albeit against Sunderland) and should probably be ahead of Kaboul who hasn't seen much first team football this year and has been fairly average when he has. He's still getting in the groove of things I'm sure, he was out for a year, after all. Dawson is captain and for some reason starts most games so I expect him too.
You lot would do well to target Naughton on the left. Average right back, usually a terrible left back.
Wouldn't be surprised if AVB does indeed play boring, slow, possession football because of how makeshift the defense is atm.

Re: Spurs vs. Liverpool
My boy Raheem to run circles around Naughton.
If you play boring, slow, possession based football you might actually win as you'll control the game lol. Bar Everton, we've pretty much played with 9 men behind the ball every away game... hopefully that changes and we go back to playing how we did last season. :S

Spurs midfield is like a kid in the mafia being told to take out his very first hit..... they toy with the idea of killing you but can't do it.
Still think you will win, they will have meaningless possession but at the end of the day you have a striker who scores and they don't

Re: Spurs vs. Liverpool
Mole, Gerrard, Sturridge and Enrique are out. Our striker isn't going to score without service. Coutinho is pretty much the only creative player in this squad after Luis. I'll be surprised if he has an influence after Sandro has pretty much said he's going to target Liverpool's "Ronaldinho".
Our midfield has only really dominated two games in Fulham and West Ham where both those games were at home. Keep in mind our midfield has consisently played like how we vsed Newcastle when your lot had 10 men. Surely you'd have to say we were average that game. We're horrible on the road.
There is hope though. Rodgers changed back to his philosophy at the end of the West Ham game to play more attacking possession (also known as the pass and move / Liverpool way) so let's hope he continues that and doesn't drop it for another counter attacking game....
