Our best result under BR. What a fantastic game.

As said before, Gerrard injury is a blessing in disguise. He disrupts the flow of the game at times. Not surprisingly, Allen, Hendo and Lucas — all beasted this game.

I will leave the good things for you guys as you do it better. I believe in addition to the Alberto for Lucas, there should have been couple more changes after we went 3-0:

1. Kelly for Flannagan
2. Moses for Coutinho
3. Moses for Raheem
4. Aspas for Suarez

All of them would have benefited with some minutes.

That is the obvious question that has to be asked after such a performance. Is there correlation between Gerrard being out and our sublime performance? We sure looked energetic as hell in this game and were breaking out in counter-attacks despite "missing" Stevie's long-range distribution.

To say the least, we should try out the same XI in the future, too.

About *bleep* time ffs. We go back to our old system from last season (attack/kept possession/LOOKED for a pass rather than lumping it forward to Suarez) and we put in our best performance of the year. Players are motivated, COMFORTABLE and genuinely just thrive in this system. Spurs had no answers to it, again, they're still adjusting to THEIR new system - we already had that over them. This is what I wanted for the last 6 months here - let's just hope this counter-attacking crap is gone for good and the experimentations stop away from home. We already have the formula.

EDIT: This has nothing to do with Gerrard out. The old system is back baby. IF we continue to play like this, I'm CONFIDENT we'll finish in the top 4. But I do not for one second regret my bursts at Rodgers at the start of the season - we could easily be first right now if we didn't play that 352 counter attacking crap.

Honestly one of the worst defenders I've ever seen.

That being said AVB is an idiot for playing a high line with him. He'd still be a 1 or 2 goal a game liability even without it though.

Naughton...not sure how he's a professional either. Walker has actually been dece this year. Capoue isn't a natural CB.
