I agree with rwo, Neuer doesn't really get the basics wrong, Iker just has a mare sometimes and Buffon has alos made some atrocious errors as well.

Well, of the shots Manuel Neuer got on his goal, he saved 85,7% in the Season 2012/13 (says Sportal.de). I wouldn't say that this is a bad number, so it looks as if the silly mistakes he makes are comparatibly negligible.

I'm sorry rwo but the save percentage is irrelevant considering the fact that Bayern defensively were so strong, they barely allowed the opposition to get close to the goal last season - the only way was through set pieces (in which Manuel was at fault quite a few times), and long shots (which are understandably easier to save, which makes the save percentage higher).

Of course he's a top class GK but the way people distance him from the likes of Casillas, Buffon, Valdes is just wrong. If you do, you're overrating him and if a lot of people do then it's safe to say he's OVERRATED.

He's younger than the other GK's mentioned so it's understandable that he does mistakes more often but let's not give him the special treatment because of that.
