Re: If De Bruyne does not leave Chelsea in January
Mr Nick09 wrote:City trying to sign his kid reminds me of why they havent done anything in europe for 5 years, bunch of idiots running the recruiting side. After investing 50+ mil on Mangala, now they will sign a CAM to strengthen a position they are already very strong in, with Silva and Toure.
Is it that hard to understand they need serious help with their wide attacking players? Are they planning to play Milner, Navas and Nasri for another year?
Toure is on the wrong side of 30, and is lazy and doesn't care. Nasri, Navas and Milner are likely out (at least 2 of of the 3). Silva is also prone to injury from time to time. So then you have Silva as the main CAM on the team and not allot of big game ready talent behind him, so signing De Bruyne isn't a horrible idea. If it's the start of a rebuilding process then it's a pretty good start if you ask me.
And anytime a Real Madrid fan comes into a thread whining about other teams over spending on positions they don't need to strengthen is ridiculous.

KDB does and can play on the right though. Silva and KDB can rotate throughout the match.
Silva is nearing 30 btw, and you could argue that KDB is better then Silva atm.

They're selling Toure and De Bruyne is a better player than Silva so I don't see the problem.

I dont think they will continue with 4-4-2 in the long term. It was only Pellegrini being clueless there he consistently used it. And if they are reverting to a 4-2-3-1, KdB would fit right in along with Silva as then 3 AMs could be able to play right ?
Milner and Toure will be out. And Nasri too if they get a replacement.

Re: If De Bruyne does not leave Chelsea in January
There is a difference between saying he can play on the right and him being at his best centrally.
Sure Silva is aging but if they want to make a big move, big signing to genuinely get better then they need elite talent wide players.

Silva is inconsistent as *bleep* tbf, if De Bruyne can replicate his BL performances he'd be better long term even if he's inferior from a talent and overall ceiling stand point.

Re: If De Bruyne does not leave Chelsea in January
Nick, you're right that Wide player is our obvious need. De bruyne Its not going to be our only signing nor even our marquee signing hopefully.
Priority of Need:
Pacey winger or Wide forward
DM
CAM
Full back
CM
Ideal target for me
Reus(Bale if available)
2nd Winger Lavezzi- if cheap
Gundogan/Martinez (health?)
De bruyne
Jose Luis Gaya
Out: Yaya, Nasri, Dzeko, Jovetic, Kolarov, Fernando
In: Denayer, Lopes, Rekik(?), Angelino

You'd never see somebody like Hazard say that though.
De Bruyne needs to develop heart, swag, or a good substitute. He comes across as a little girl.
Let Courtois take his woman...no consequences
Let Mourinho punk him....he announces to the world he is happy to run.
He could be running the league with this chelsea squad if he wasn't so soft.

What are you on about.
Why would he go back to play for a manager that didn't rate him.
He's already better than Hazard lol.

Nothing is wrong with changing your mind, I do it all the time but Betty did wrote at the start he would have no ambition if he didn't leave Chelsea. Does it mean he would have ambition now if he could return to Chelsea?

Re: If De Bruyne does not leave Chelsea in January
I think a player who leaves a team where the coach has no faith in him and instead goes to a team where he is cherished, can regularly play, have fun and thus improve his performance is highly intelligent and will likely faster become world class than when he warms the bench in a team where he doesn't really get along with the coach.
