West Brom v Arsenal Preview
West Brom v Arsenal, Wednesday 25th September, 8pm, The Hawthorns, Capital One Cup 3rd Round
Arsène Wenger is set to rotate his squad against West Brom
Wenger wants to win cup but will rotate
"I will try to find a good balance between youth and experience," was how Arsène Wenger explained his approach to Wednesday evening's Capital One cup third round tie away to West Brom. After seven successive wins in all competitions, many of the key performers during that run - notably Aaron Ramsey and Jack Wilshere - will be rested for the tricky-looking trip to The Hawthorns. "I take the competition very seriously as well because it's an opportunity to win a trophy," Wenger continued. The gunners again travel to the Midlands in a few week's time to take on West Brom once more, in the Premier League.
Baggies hope to knock out "under pressure" Arsenal
West Brom assistant Kevin Keen is desperate for a cup run - "it'd be fantastic" - and says Arsenal are "under pressure" to lift a trophy this season. The baggies knocked out Newport County in round two of this season's Capital One Cup (3-0) and Keen insists even if manager Steve Clarke makes changes, it won't "weaken" the side.

Bench: Fabianski; Bellerin, Koscielny; Wilshere, Ramsey; Özil, Giroud;
That'd be my team for tomorrow night. Defensively it looks nice on paper but if things aren't going well in attack we have a decent bench to make changes.
A win would mean our great run continues, so it'd be nice if we win in the end even if it means going in extra time or penalties. As for the cup, I'm not really interested in it, if we lose it'd be a shame sure but if playing a weaker team means having a fitter squad against Swansea and Napoli then I guess it'll be worth it. But this team can keep it tight until the end when we introduce 3 of Wilshere, Ramsey, Özil and Giroud and hopefully win the game.

It will be a tough game, West brom will be up for this and will probably play their strongest team. This is a good chance for Ryo and Gnabry to justify all that hype. I can't believe Lugano plays for West brom, what a pub teamer

Fabianski or Viviano..?
if Viviano gets the nod, i feel really sad for Fabianski.. he shuould not have waited this summer unless he is happy to sit in the bench and earn wages.. at the same time there is no reason we signed Viviano on loan if we are not planning to play him at all..

Viviano will start because Fabianski just came back from injury, I think.

Re: West Brom v Arsenal Preview
Hayden has played as a CB few times for reserves. I think he will be the backup to Verm-Mert.
The squad for the CoC is weaker than the previous years. Expect anything. If you know what i am hinting at.
But, let's of course try our best. Hopefully WBA put out a weak team which i doubt but yeah.
Looking forward to see Ryo, Gnabry, Olsson and Akpom.

Re: West Brom v Arsenal Preview
Hayden is a centre back and a pretty decent talent, too.
I don't have particularly high hopes tonight. Our defence and midfield will actually be pretty good - certainly good enough to play West Brom. However, it's hard to see that attack doing enough to win us the game tonight. Eisfeld is okay but Gnabry is very inexperienced and Miyaichi and Bendtner aren't anywhere near match fit. What's more, we don't have the bench to really change the game. The team we start with will have to win it.
I want us to do well in this competition but at that stage, ensuring that the likes of Gibbs, Ramsey, Wilshere and Giroud get some rest is a bigger priority since they've played every game so far and we've got two difficult games against Swansea and Napoli to come.
It's a shame, though. Imagine if we didn't have any injuries. We could have played:

Re: West Brom v Arsenal Preview
Bendtner showed his quality when he was at Sunderland, scoring 8 times in 30 appearances and, to be honest, his numbers with us aren't too bad either. It's just that darn stinking attitude of his
I'm excited to see him as well

Re: West Brom v Arsenal Preview
You're not far off, actually. Walcott is the top scorer right now with 51. Bendtner has 45.
He's also one of our longest serving players.

I dont think this is the same bendtner, he has changed.
My money on Bendter no score 3 goals today to put the pressure on Theo record.
