Carnivalesque stuff from Barcelona, hadn't seen them like this in ages.

Best half of football I've watched this season, everybody playing great and enjoying themselves.

To be totally objective, while this is fantastic, La Real is making it possible.
Zero pressing up high, no pressure even in the midfield. We are getting the ball 40-50m from goal with total freedom. After that, our players take over and do what they do.
Very confused by whatever gameplan La Real have.

I believe Tata is trying to allow other teams to have more possession, which makes them open up a little more and attack us, hence less deep defending applied. This is something I caught in the past few games. When we went up 3-0 we actually had 54% when I checked I believe, but now we have a lot created good chances, but La Real now are defending deeper. However this is not the same La Real from last season, but still a good showing from us.

Agreed, very poor from Sociedad. If there's a worst way to play against Barcelona, La Real are showcasing it.The Franchise wrote:To be totally objective, while this is fantastic, La Real is making it possible.

To be fair, being scored on 2 goals in 8 minutes is heavily demoralising.

What was the from Piqué...king of complacency

I would take Messi and Xavi out for Tello and Song at this point.

Bit of beef between Martino and Messi as the latter goes off the pitch?

Messi is accustomed to finishing matches. He needs to realize there is no point in him being out there the last 10 mins if we are up 3 goals
Its better for him in the long run, and for the team
Anyways- 71% for us tonight in possesion

I dunno what kind of defending Pique was doing for that goal. I mean..just...what?
Anyway, that aside he did well, he got tight to striker when we were pressing and didnt allow a turn. Something he sometimes does

When a mestico has children with a white person the kid is normally white or mestico. The kid's mother is white.free_cat wrote:Neymar should get a dna test on that kid.
"Mestico" is how we call people who have black and white heritage like Neymar.

Nice game, a pity messi and Pedro didn't bury those great chances afyer awesome plays! I liked Tata's press conference too, I trust the guy. Hope Bartra can have a chance and do well now.

Re: FC Barcelona - Real Sociedad | La Liga Matchday 6 | Tuesday 24th, Sept 2013
So it seems that there really was something with Messi, because Tata said that he already "dealt with it". It seems a bit unnecessary to take out Messi 10 minutes before the match is over. Taking him out at 60 minutes is rotation, at 80 I'm not so sure. Do those 10 minutes really make a difference long-term? We have to take into account the effect that it has on our star.
Also I'll ditto Free's comments that Martino inspires a lot of confidence in the press room. Not quite el puto amo of the press room yet, but definitely getting there.
What did everyone make of Pique and Bartra pushing up so heavily? Bartra got a fine poacher's goal and Pique had a nice shooting opportunity from it. I don't think I've noticed it happening this often since Pep's days. Something that has definitely been worked on.

Well, the game was over. If we didnt let in the goal and made it 4 earlier then Messi probably comes out earlier. Maybe it was even in Tata's mind as soon as the 2 goals were scored early.
So you could say, why would Tata change his idea just because there is only 10minutes left?
I dont understand why it has to be a "thing" he is getting subbed out. Neymar had just as great a game, probably better in my opinion and he went off even earlier. Messi scored a goal, had many chances to get another...the game was over, come off, whats the big deal?
He also stopped running defensively. Obviously in my world its nowhere near this level and Messi isnt a 15 year old boy, but as soon as one of my players stops giving any effort defensively, its time to pull them.
I understand he doesnt want to come off, nobody wants to come off when they are winning like that, but if Tata already had a plan, I see no reason why not stick to it. Not to mention the slight possibility of one of the tired Sociedad players making a desperate lunge on Messi and hurting him, not impossible at all.

Alves won 16 balls against Real Sociedad, the most in a single Barcelona games this season (2nd is Masche vs Levante with 15).The Franchise wrote:I have no idea how many times Dani Alves pressing has lead to him or one of his teammates winning the ball, but the number would be incredible.
It still boggles my mind any talk of him leaving.
Bartra vs Sociedad: 58 mins, 35/35 passes, 7 balls won, 0 lost, 1 goal !
